Metro band: a new generation of rock musicians

Rock music has always occupied a special place in the domestic show business. More precisely, she was always opposed to him. Therefore, today they are increasingly talking about the fact that rock in Russia is slowly dying, and there is no worthy replacement for the old rockers. Of course, playing the underground, it is more difficult to find your audience. But the Metro group was able to do this without changing itself and itself. Already today they are being talked about as a new generation of rock music in Russia.

How did it all start?

Alexander Staroverov has been the founder and permanent leader of the group for 15 years. A native of the Volga city of Saratov, at first he did not think about the professional activities of a musician. On the instructions of his parents, he went to get a "real" legal profession. All this time he constantly took part in various musical events. By the end of his studies at the university, it became obvious that music completely absorbed Alexander. So, in 2003 he appearedpermanent team - group "Metro".

For almost 15 years of its existence, the composition of the rock band has changed more than once. Today it is Alexander Staroverov (vocals, guitar), Alexey Ulyankin (guitar), Artem Latukhin (bass guitar), Alan Aslamazov (keyboards), Artem Zemskov (drums). In addition, Ilya Doroshin (bass guitar), Ilya Likhachev (keyboards), Petr Tikhonov (trumpet) sometimes join the guys on performances and tours.

A little about the composition

Of course, the face and voice of the team is Alexander Staroverov. But without his team, as he himself admits, he is unlikely to have achieved the desired success. So, the co-author of many songs and arrangements is Alexey Latukhin. Cheerful and sympathetic, the band's guitarist is the real soul of the company. He, like no one else, manages to feel the mood of the public.

Another guitarist, Alexei Ulyankin, can't imagine his life without a guitar. As he himself claims, he was born a musician. Already at the age of 8 he performed on stage and collected a standing ovation. What he does with the guitar and bass guitar is mesmerizing. Rock band "Metro" without Alexei would be completely different. The guitarist enjoys playing for his listeners and constantly improves his skills.

But the real acquisition for the group was the appearance of a professional in the team. We are talking about Alan Aslamazov. He has been studying music since the age of 5 and has always connected his future life only with her. Behind him are studies at a music school and a conservatory. He participated andtoured with many successful groups, including many years of work at the Stas Namin Theater.

And, of course, it's hard to imagine that the Metro band performed without a drummer. Artem Zemskov is the youngest member of the team (born in 1994). However, he is very ambitious and talented. Alexey came from the small town of Balakovo, first to Saratov, and then to Moscow. He joined the group only in July 2015. During this time, he not only perfectly joined the team, but also enriched the group's repertoire with his arrangements of old and new compositions.

Songs of the group "Metro"

The group, like many domestic bands, began its activities with high-quality cover versions of famous compositions. Today they play at corporate parties and other events where there are various programs with musical inclusions. Disco of the 80s, foreign and domestic hits of past years - there is no such genre that would be beyond the strength of the musicians of this band.

In addition to cover versions, the Metro group is successfully touring with their own program. To date, the musicians have released 2 studio albums ("Moving fast" in 2013 and "Paints" in 2015) and the third is being prepared. The song "Telephone" from the second album entered the rotation of many Russian radio stations and in the summer of 2015 sounded, as they say, from every iron.

In addition, Alexander Starover's songs have repeatedly become soundtracks for films and TV shows. The most famous is "Thin Ice" from the movie "KissingBridge" in collaboration with A. Gorbunov and "Airplane" from the TV movie "Caution, entry is allowed!". For these and other works in 2015, Alexander Staroverov became a laureate of the "Film Song" contest.

Instead of a conclusion

Unfortunately, the group "Metro" gives concerts infrequently. Most of their performances are in clubs and other similar establishments. This is understandable. A team playing intellectual rock is unlikely to fill stadiums. Their music is suggestive and requires thoughtfulness. Those who were at their performances unconditionally become their fans. It is not for nothing that the Metro team, starting from 2013, has constantly become the winner of the "Success of the Year" award.
