Early career

While his older brother Chuck Norris was on the rise, he began his career as a stuntman. Among the films of Aaron Norris of those years are Black Belt Jones (1974), Speedtrap (1977) and Breaker! Breaker! (1977). The following year, he was again hired as a martial arts choreographer and stunt performer in place of his brother in Good Guys Wear Black (1978), directed by Ted Post. He noted that it was the stunt of flying through the windshield of an accelerating car that provided the picture with large box office receipts. He also played a small role in this film. Later that year, director Ted Post hired him again to do stunts for his film Go Tell the Spartans. Aaron was the stunt coordinator for John Carpenter's Elvis, starring Kurt Russell.

In 1979, Aaron Norris played Anderson in The Power of One, which starred his brother Chuck. There he acted as a wrestling choreographer and stunt coordinator. The director noted that Aaron wanted to know everything and influence the picture more. Because of this, the director forced him to focus on martial arts and choreography. In the same year, Aaron was a stuntman for the Italian film The Visitor.

In the early 1980s, he continued to coordinate stunts for his brother's film The Octagon(1980) and "An Eye for an Eye" (1981).

Shortly after, he landed his first two jobs as a producer on Silent Anger (1982) and Lone Wolf McQuaid (1983), where he also did stunt coordination.
