Reshad Nuri Guntekin. Biography. Early years
The future writer was born on November 25, 1889 in the Turkish city of Istanbul. Reshad's father - Nuri Bey - worked as a military doctor in the Turkish army with the rank of major. He was an educated man and was fluent in three foreign languages - French, Arabic and Persian. The father played a rather important role in the formation of Reshad Nuri Gyuntekin as a person and a writer. Nuri encouraged his son to study people and nature, to reflect on the essence of things.
Reshad attended a local school located in Canakkale. He later transferred to Izmir's Frerers High School. After graduating in 1912, Reshad entered Istanbul University. Boysince childhood he was fond of folk art and literature. That is why Reshad decided to enter the Faculty of Literature.
Further activities
Reshad begins his literary activity at the end of the First World War. Guntekin writes short stories under the assumed name Cemal Nimet. The first story was published in a popular Turkish magazine in 1917. A year later, various literary studies of Reshad and his reviews of plays were published. In parallel with this, Guntekin continues to write his stories. In 1927, he falls in love with Mrs. Hadiye, a graduate of the Erenkey girls' school. The couple is getting married. Soon the writer's daughter is born.
After graduating, Reshad got a job at a secondary school in Bursa, and later in Istanbul. There he worked as a teacher. Reshad gave lessons in literature, philosophy, and the Turkish language. In addition, he was engaged in leadership work. In 1931, Reshad Nuri Guntekin received the position of inspector in the MNO (Ministry of National Education). Later, during 1933-1943, the writer worked in the Turkish parliament as a representative of his native city of Canakkale. In 1947, Reshad returned to the Ministry of Education, but already in the position of senior inspector. Since 1950, the writer has been working as a cultural consultant in Paris. At the same time, Reshad Nuri Guntekin is the representative of Turkey in the World Organization of UNESCO.
Last years of life
When Guntekin Reshad Nuri retired, he got a jobto the literary rule of Istanbul. However, his he alth soon deteriorated.
The writer leaves the country due to constant ailments and goes to London for treatment. Later it turns out that Guntekin has lung cancer. On December 13, 1956, at the age of 67, Reshad dies due to this ailment. The writer was buried in the Istanbul cemetery called Karacaahmet.

The merits of the novel include a gripping plot,the presence of very vivid images, an abundance of diverse characters. It is also impossible not to note the high level of emotionality. The author understands female psychology very well. It is for this reason that the main character and all her actions look very organic and realistic.
