The actor was born in Los Angeles on May 22, 1939. He was raised by a single mother. Paul's adoptive father, Clarence Winfield, a simple worker, garbage collector, appeared in the family when the boy was already eight years old. He gave the child his last name.

Paul Winfield received his secondary education at a Los Angeles school, and his higher education at several universities, the last of which were Stanford and California. And the main and most significant in terms of obtaining knowledge was Portland. Paul had to pass only one exam, at the last university.

First filming

Paul Winfield started acting on television, playing several small roles in the TV series "Perry Mason". And on the big screen, he first appeared in some low-budget film, where his name was not even indicated in the credits. This was in 1967.

In 1969, Paul Winfield received his first prominent role in the film Lost. Despite the fact that the television character went unnoticed, the actor had to readjust to play on the big screen. Then Paul went to the theater for a long time. Paul Winfield survived his partner by only two years. Recently, the actor suffered from diabetes and obesity. On May 7, 2004, he died suddenly of a massive heart attack and was buried in Hollywood Hills Cemetery.
