The Satyricon Theater began its life just before the Great Patriotic War. The theater's repertoire includes both classical plays and works by contemporary authors. The troupe has great actors. The artistic director of the theater is Konstantin Raikin.

History of the theater

The Satyricon Theater was founded by the father of the current artistic director, Arkady Raikin. The opening of the first season took place in 1939 in St. Petersburg. Then it was called "Leningrad Theater of Variety and Miniatures". Soon the war began. Artists from 1941 to 1945 traveled to the front line with concerts. After the end of the war, the troupe toured the country. In the late 1950s, artists took their performances abroad. In 1981, the troupe was replenished with young artists, among them the son of Arkady Raikin - Konstantin. A year later, the theater moved to Moscow and received a building where the cinema "Tajikistan" was located. The premises have been renovated and refurbished. Since 1987, the name appeared on the poster - the Satyricon Theater. The renaming took place at the initiative of Arkady Raikin. Such a namewas chosen because it reflected the essence of the theater - it was a world of satire and humor. In the same year, the reconstruction of the building was completed in the summer, and the Satyricon presented its first performance to the public. And in the winter, Arkady Raikin died. His son Konstantin comes to replace him. The theater repertoire is changing - there is a transition from short satirical miniatures to drama. In 1992, the name changed again, now it sounds like this: Russian State Theater "Satyricon" named after A. Raikin.

The Satyricon Theater lives under the strict guidance of Konstantin Arkadyevich Raikin. He was born in 1950. He received his acting education at the Higher Theater School named after B. V. Schukin. Laureate of awards: "Idol", "Seagull", "Triumph", "Crystal Turandot", "Golden Mask" and so on. Konstantin Arkadyevich was awarded the title People's Artist of Russia. For more than 40 years, K. Raikin has been serving the theatrical art. Famous for his film roles:
