Tom Hanks (full name Thomas Jeffrey Hanks) was born in Concord, California on July 9, 1956. As a child, Thomas was a restless child, loved noisy games and even then showed outstanding artistic abilities. When the boy was five years old, his parents divorced. Until he came of age, Tom lived with his father, then moved to Oakland and entered the University of California. Hanks studied unevenly, without much interest, he was more interested in theatrical art. And when Tom was invited to take part in the performances of the local theater, he left his studies without regret.
Film debut
In 1980, Hanks made his film debut with a small role in He Knows You're Alone. However, fame came to the young actor only four years later, when he played Allan Bauer, a store clerk, in the movie Splash. The film was directed by Ron Howard in the genrefantastic romance. In the center of the plot is the love of young Allan and a mermaid who accidentally fell from the ocean into a noisy metropolis. The mermaid was brilliantly played by Hollywood actress Daryl Hannah, and Tom Hanks' filmography received the first significant picture.
Fame
After "Splash" was at the box office, Tom Hanks became a famous and sought-after actor. Offers from directors and film producers followed one after another. The young actor accepted several invitations for roles and began to read scripts. The filmography of Tom Hanks was quickly replenished with new pictures. Hanks played Rick Gascoe in The Hangover, directed by Neil Israel and about a merry group of guys seeing their buddy off "to family life." Tom's next film starring was The Man with One Red Shoe, directed by Stan Dragoti. His character - the violinist Richard Drew - is a klutz and a loser. The picture has something in common with the similar French film "Tall blond in a black shoe", in which Pierre Richard played.

Then actor Tom Hanks played Lawrence Bourne in the film "Volunteers" directed by Nicholas Meyer. Lawrence, the unlucky rake, got into debt, and to hide from creditors, he left for Thailand.
The next film with Tom Hanks was the picture "Every time we say goodbye forever" Israeli director Moshe Mizrahi.
