Surprisingly, "Ivan Vasilyevich Changes His Profession" also fits well into the science fiction genre. The most interesting family films are always old films that we loved as children. In "Ivan Vasilievich …" there are all the attributes of the genre that is popular today - a time machine, "hit-mates". Soviet comedy film directed by Leonid Gaidai in 1973. The main script was Mikhail Bulgakov's play "IvanVasilyevich". The film became the highest grossing in the country in the year of the premiere and received a good rating from critics and excellent reviews from the audience.

A young enthusiastic engineer Timofeev, played by Alexander Demyanenko, better known to all Soviet people as Shurik, invents a time machine. As a result of a short circuit, he loses consciousness, and a fantastic plot begins. The colorful building manager Ivan Vasilyevich Bunsha (actor Yuri Yakovlev), together with the apartment thief Georges Miloslavsky (Leonid Kuravlev), end up in the chambers of Ivan the Terrible, and the tsar himself - in Soviet times. In 2017, "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" was released, a sequel to the film "Jumanji" based on the children's book of the same name by Chris van Olsbroek. After many adventures, well up to the standards of the most interesting fiction, the heroes manage to escape from the game.

Almost "Alien"

"Prometheus" was conceived as a prequel to the classic 1979 film "Alien", but became an independent picture in the fantasy genre. Upon landing, they discover ancient artificial structures, in which they find equipment and the Creator sleeping in a cryochamber. When he is awakened, he kills Wayland's people. It turned out that the Creators flew to Earth to destroy the life they gave birth to. Show with the help of android David (Michael Fassbender) manages to stop the revived forefather of mankind. She decides to fly to the planet of the Creators to find out the motives for such a decision. In the course of the movie on the astronautsattacked by snake-like creatures from Alien eggs.

Fantastic "Groundhog Day"

Among the most interesting science fiction is the 2014 film "Edge of Tomorrow". The picture was very well received by critics, who called the film a fast-paced sci-fi thriller.

The film is often referred to as a mixture of "Groundhog Day" and "Starship Troopers". The protagonist William Cage (Tom Cruise) dies in battle with aliens. When he wakes up, he realizes that he returned on the same day, and this happens again and again. With the help of Sgt. How to survive on Mars?

Prestigious cinematographic awards for the picture "The Martian" received as a comedy, not as a fantasy. The most interesting movie about space in 2015 is the opinion of many viewers, who especially noted Matt Damon's acting and special effects. Despite the fact that the picture is overloaded with scientific details, the director managed to present the material in an entertaining and comedic style. True, especially picky experts noted the incomplete scientific reliability of some scenes of the film.

An expedition to Mars is caught in a sandstorm in the near future. Having taken off urgently, they leave the botanist Mark Watney (Matt Damon) on the planet, considering him dead. An injured astronaut is left alone without communication in a habitation module with resources designed formonth for six people. At the mission control center, the head of the Mars program, Vincent Kapoor (Chivetel Ejiofor), learns from the analysis of satellite images that Mark survived. The protagonist himself shows miracles of ingenuity. He needs to survive until the arrival of the next expedition, which will arrive in three years. The crew under the command of Melissa Lewis (Jessica Chastain) returns, picks up the hero and flies safely to Earth.

Almost like in Biryulyovo

The most interesting sci-fi is undoubtedly the Russian film of 2017 "Attraction". A rather banal story tells about contact with an alien civilization. As the scriptwriters wrote, the unrest in Biryulyovo in 2013 served as an impetus for the creation of the picture. The film paid off a large budget by Russian standards and received good reviews from the audience. The second part of the film is planned to be released in 2019.

Alien explorer Hakon (Rinal Mukhametov) is caught in a meteor shower over Moscow. The "flying saucer" loses its camouflage and is shot down by air defense planes. Dinosaur World

"Jurassic World 2" is the fifth installment in a series of films about genetically engineered dinosaurs. The picture received a good rating from the audience as the most interesting science fiction in the first half of 2018. Everyone was impressed by the spectacle and colorfulness, but the picture was criticized for the weakness of the script. Critics wrote that this is the most serious film in the franchise with a big animal protection accent.

Island Nublar, home to the ruined Jurassic Park, is threatened with destruction due to a volcanic eruption. Former park manager Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell), one of the creators of the cloning technology, and his assistant Eli Mills (Rafe Spall) assemble a group to save the dinosaurs. Former raptor trainer Owen Graedy (Chris Pratt) is brought in as an expert. As a result of the expedition, former fossil animals are saved, but now people will share the world with dinosaurs.

Talk to aliens

The 2016 film "Arrival" received a lot of praise from viewers and critics, who called it a masterpiece of fantasy and the most interesting film of the year.

The heroine Amy Adams, linguist Dr. Louise Banks, and astrophysicist Ian Donnelly (Jeremy Renner) are mobilized by US intelligence agencies to contact aliens whose ships have appeared in different countries and are located intwelve places. Gradually, they begin to understand aliens who simultaneously live in the past and in the future. Louise prevents the Chinese from attacking one of the ships by deciphering one of the aliens' messages. It turned out that they flew to help the earthlings unite, because then in 3000 years the earthlings would save them.

Robot World

Westworld became the most viewed series in the history of the American HBO channel and earned the highest rating among viewers in 2016. It received mostly positive reviews from critics as the most entertaining science fiction series. Everyone praised the visuals, story, and acting. The second season began airing in 2018.

All adventures take place in the futuristic park "Westworld", which was inhabited by androids. The attraction caters to we althy and high-profile clients who can do whatever they pay for in the park. In the interiors of the Wild West, tourists rob and kill androids. But robots are gradually gaining consciousness, becoming a "new people". Among the main characters:

• farmer's daughter Dolores Abernathy (Evan Rachel Wood) who gradually discovers that she is in fact a robot;
• brothel owner Maeve Millie (Thandie Newton), also a robot;
• Head of Programming Bernard Lowe (Jeffrey Wright).
