"Climbing Olympus" is a detective series from director Sergei Shcherbin, known for his films "Passion for Chapay" and "It was in the Kuban". In total, eight episodes of fifty minutes were filmed, shooting took place in Tbilisi, Moscow, Vyborg and St. Petersburg.
Storyline
The action of the series takes place in 1980 on the eve of the Olympics in Moscow. A series of scandalously high-profile robberies is sweeping through the city, one of which is the theft of a painting from a museum, they wanted to give it to delegations from Germany. The main character Alexei Stavrov must, by all means, return the picture. During the investigation, he, along with two colleagues, learns about the robbery and murder of the widow of one of the generals.
Throughout the Climbing Olympus (2016) series, Stavrov, Kobalia and Valevsky travel around Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tbilisi, trying to find clues and solve the case. Against the backdrop of difficult work, the main character's relationship with his wife deteriorates.

But with the costumes and hairstyles there were many inconsistencies. Save the insufficiently thought-out plot in the series "Climbing Olympus" (2015), the actors and the roles they played brilliantly. The image of Yuri Baturin was especially well suited. But the game of Vladislav Reznik was not appreciated by many, although here, of course, it is a matter of taste. The Russian director is still far from the standards of Hollywood series, but he managed to reflect the style and culture of the Russian people, perfectly selected the cast and emphasized all their strengths.
