Bill Ward is a British drummer. He is also a songwriter. He is best known as a member of Black Sabbath. He was born in Aston, in Birmingham, in 1948, on May 5.

Bill Ward was in a band called Mythology in 1968. Guitarist Tony Iommi performed with him. In 1968, the musicians, along with vocalist Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler, formed The Polka Tulk Blues Band. It was first renamed Earth. And in 1969 it was named Black Sabbath.
