Pilgrim Puppet Theater in Tolyatti was founded in 1972. This unique theater fought for its own premises for a long time, but thanks to the faith and perseverance of its enthusiasts, it managed to win its official place in the city. Today it gathers guests from Kazan, Ufa, Omsk, Penza and other large cities. The repertoire of the theater is replenished annually, interesting performances do not leave indifferent adults or children.
History of the theater
The history of the theater began in 1972, when a group of young enthusiasts decided to start creating fabulous performances for children. However, I had to perform more in schools and kindergartens, carrying with me all the attributes of stage life. For 10 years, the theater, which already had its memorable name "Pilgrim", could not find a home where all its puppet characters could live. So far, the curator of the institution, Sergey Obraztsov, has not interceded with higher authorities. It was then, in 1983,the theater acquires a new home, its own, which to this day is located in the former Palace of Culture of the city of Togliatti.
The Pilgrim Theater in Tolyatti is very famous. In the 80s, his troupe actively toured the country and often participated in various competitions.
After the collapse of the USSR, the theater switched to a commercial contract basis. Trips were temporarily stopped, the repertoire was edited. In order to attract the attention of not only a young viewer, but also an older audience, new trends of modernity began to be introduced into use. The theater keeps pace with the times, constantly improving its art.
The quality of not only the stage productions, but also the puppets themselves has improved significantly. They began to be made in a new technique, whiter realistic and voluminous.
The theater celebrates its birthday every year on March 27, delighting its audience with new productions and performances on this day.

Today, the Pilgrim Puppet Theater in Togliatti is known to every local. Other children's theaters often come to the former Palace of Culture with tours.
In addition to the usual performances with talking puppets, now you can see musicals performed live by theater artists. A variety of repertoire and age groups delight every viewer, whether it be a child or a parent.
To date, more than a hundred performances have been staged in the theater! And now on its stage there are as many as 25 productions for different age categories of children andteenagers. The acting group of the theater is very professional, there are honored artists of Russia.
The theater also has its own puppet workshop, where designers, craftsmen and even fashion tailors work to create new members of a large theatrical family.
