The very fact of using an acting duet in cinema to attract the attention of the viewer is obvious. The system, according to which there are two completely different people in the frame, immediately attracts the attention of a person. It becomes interesting for him to follow the joint pastime of bright opposites, which, accordingly, directly affects the success of the film.

"Thick and thin", "strong and weak", "smart and stupid", "evil and kind" - all these cinematic duets are created partly to show that all people are essentially the same, but differences that at first seem drastic are actually quite minor.

Usually the audience responds well to this kind of comedy, many times reviewing tapes about curiosities, omissions and funny adventures of characters.

The film "Back to Back" (2010) was no exception, the reviews for which were mostly positive. In part, the film was to the taste of the viewer because of the legendary Robert Downey Jr. playing in it, and in part due to the original and wittyscenario.

Movie

Todd Phillips' 'Back to Head' only cemented his title as one of Hollywood's finest comedians. After Todd directed The Hangover in 2009, Back to Back became the very film that adequately continued the director's humorous line, but did not become a self-repetition and plagiarism of older ideas for the master.

Deserved authority of the director not only allowed Phillips to choose the actors and composer for the film, but also enabled the studio to give the creative person complete freedom of action, which was reflected in the success of the film. The director is not shy about touching on topics that are dangerous for cinematic censorship, such as sex or drugs, which further fuels the viewer's interest in a work that is competently built on the verge of what is allowed and what is not allowed.

Storyline

The film "Back-to-back" tells about the incredible journey of two completely different people who, by the will of fate, are forced to travel together almost across the whole country. The protagonist of the film - Peter Heyman - is in a hurry to return from a business trip in order to get home in time for the birth of his first child. All the circumstances of his journey are incredibly successful, at the last moment he manages to get on the plane he needs, but because of a sudden conflict with actor Ethan Tremblay, Peter finds himself in a completely unusual position for himself.

The security simply throws two brawlers out of the plane, and the debaters realize that they are left without money, creditcards, documents and luggage. And they are left to their own devices and are incredibly far from where they wanted to get by air travel.

Trying to get out of the situation, Ethan rents a car, and the two heroes, united by a common misfortune, go home, hoping to overcome the distance by autorun and make it to the right place at the right time.

Peter, a clerk of a small company, by nature a pedant and a serious person who hates any deviations from generally accepted rules, prefers business communication, but his fellow traveler, as luck would have it, turns out to be a sociable person, broken and incredibly annoying Heyman with his spiritual simplicity.

However, all the clerk can do now is sit in the passenger seat of the car and bicker with Ethan, who, on the contrary, sincerely does not understand why his fellow passenger does not want to brighten up the road with interesting games or cheerful chatter about than.

People who leave reviews of "Back to Back" in 2010 note that it is the simple humor with which each of the characters relates to all conclusions in their souls that is the very feeling that unites all people on earth.

Both men are forced to sit side by side almost all the way, endure each other, learn to listen to each other and trust each other. In the process, they both realize that they have much more in common than differences, and become good friends, although until recently, each of them publicly swore that he was ready to kill the other.

Soundtrack

Original compositions for the film provided by ChristopheBeck is one of the best composers in Hollywood, having repeatedly received an Oscar and other prestigious awards for his work on high-budget projects. The director of the film left a good review of the musical "Right Close", because the composer managed to constantly mix incongruous musical themes even in compositions. Beck had previously collaborated with Todd Phillips on The Hangover, so once again he easily created a musical accompaniment that only emphasizes the poignancy and ambiguity of the storyline.

Criticism

Reviews for the comedy "Back" have become a "bone of contention" in the community of American film critics. Some argued that even the use of the “duet of opposites” in the cinema of our time is an unworthy plagiarism, while others noted that, even using an incredibly old scheme for attracting the audience’s attention, the director masterfully keeps the viewer not so much with the scheme itself as with carefully written characters.

The characters of the film are something more than two opposites brought together by circumstances, they are an indicator that all people are the same regardless of the conditions. All mankind equally reacts to certain life accidents, troubles, inconveniences, good luck or worldly joys. In general, the reviews for the film "Back to Back" were positive, the tape even received several prestigious awards from the American Film Academy, but was not nominated for an Oscar.

This circumstance did not upset the director at all, for whom a sincere reaction was quite enoughpublic. Also, many of Phillips' films stand the test of time very well, without the need for separate awards and prizes.
