Preparatory stage before drawing

Since drawing a tank is a serious matter, you should thoroughly prepare for the lesson. Of course, you need to carefully consider the photos of this military equipment. It will not be superfluous to unobtrusively have a conversation with the child, ask what he knows about tanks, tell him about what the adult himself knows. And it is already necessary to tell something about the Great Patriotic War, about the heroism of Soviet soldiers, about the victory of the Soviet Union over the Nazis. Looking at the photo, you should highlight the main parts of the tank.

1. It is best to start drawing with caterpillars. They are shaped like ovals, slightly flattened at the top.

2. Inside the figure, draw another one, similar, but slightly smaller than the first one.
3. Inside the ovals draw wheels -circles.
4. Inside the latter, you need to draw one more concentric circle, but much smaller.
5. If we draw a tank with a pencil in stages, then after the tracks we can move on to the image of the tower. It will consist of two parts. First, draw a low rectangular trapezoid with rounded corners above the caterpillars.
6. Above it we depict another similar figure with a lower base slightly smaller than the upper one of the first one. The top trapezoid should be taller than the bottom trapezoid.
7. Now you can move on to drawing the trunk. It is depicted by two parallel straight lines emanating from the top of the tower.
8. A rectangle with rounded corners is drawn at the end of the trunk, which should protrude in width.

9. Since we have almost finished drawing the tank, we can start coloring the image. Draw a red star on the tower, and a flame escaping from the trunk. Paint the tank itself green, and draw trees, bushes, grass and earth around.

But you can do without painting the picture in color. A black and white image of military equipment is already a task for older children - at the age of 9-10 years. Although the principle of drawing itself remains the same, small details are more clearly drawn here. For example, the barrel of a tank is depicted not as two even parallel lines, but consists of severalconnected parts. And the tower itself is not written out as schematically as in the drawing for kids.

Isometric projection and linear perspective

Since drawing any object follows all the rules of art, artists over 12 years old should be explained the theory of isometric projection and linear perspective. With the first, everyone first gets acquainted, if necessary, with an image of a cube. It implies parallelism and equal size of the sides in the foreground and background. In a linear projection, on the other hand, lines that are parallel in reality must converge at a certain point on the horizon, so objects and sides of the background come out less than similar objects in the foreground.
