The debut of "Technology" took place at the very beginning of the 90s. She became the first representative of synth-pop on the Russian stage. The soloists of the Tekhnologiya group Nechitailo and Ryabtsev became pop stars in the blink of an eye. They remain famous to this day.

Biography of Vladimir Nechitailo

The musician comes from Moscow. He was born on January 11, 1967. After graduation, the future soloist of the "Technology" group went to study at the Faculty of Computer Systems Development at Moscow State Technical University. Bauman. Until 1990, he was responsible for equipment in the Bioconstructor group, and after its collapse, he joined the new team already as a vocalist.

Vladimir Nechitailo published the newspaper "Long Play" for several years and was the head of the fan club of the same name. This amateur publication aimed to popularize electronic music in the post-Soviet space. Thanks to him, many first heard about such artists as Duran Duran, Alphaville, Kraftwerk.

Because of the beautiful opera-like voice, the singer oftencompared with British David Gahan from Depeche Mode. But the musician himself, like his colleagues, does not like such comparisons.

The first steps of the group

In 1990, after the departure of vocalist Alexander Yakovlev, the members of the Bioconstructor group, popular in narrow circles, decided to start from scratch. And they created a new team that made them famous.

Soon Vladimir Nechitailo joined the team, who had also worked with Bioconstructor before. He took the vacant position of soloist. The band has started recording demo material for the upcoming album. The guys wrote songs and shot videos with a small budget. "Technology" soon began to be aired by regional radio studios.

Relationship with producer

One of the key figures in the formation of the group was producer Yuri Aizenshpis. He joined the team after much persuasion in April 1991. Aizenshpis was already a well-known personality in musical circles. He produced the Kino group, and it was with him that nationwide popularity came to Viktor Tsoi.

"Technology" under his leadership is rapidly gaining momentum. In the same year, their debut album titled "Everything You Want" was released on cassettes and vinyl records. Began active rotation on the radio. The songs of the group "Technology" "Press the button" and "Strange dances" become popular hits. They stay at the top of the charts for months.

Yuri Aizenshpis is notintervened in the process of composing songs, giving the musicians complete freedom for creativity. But they were not satisfied with the fact that the producer took a large percentage of the concert fees for his work. In 1992, "Technology" terminated the contract with Aizenshpis with a loud scandal.

Shortly after that, the group disbanded for the first time. Leading musicians have left. In particular, Roman Ryabtsev was invited to France to record a solo album. By that time, he had become interested in Britpop and wanted to write guitar music that did not correspond to the style of "Technology".

Yuri Aizenshpis was faring better than ever. After "Technology" he collaborated with such musicians as Linda, Dima Bilan, Vlad Stashevsky, "Moral Code", Katya Lel.

Concert activity

At the peak of their popularity, the team was in great demand. The soloists of the Tekhnologiya group gave four concerts a day and were terribly exhausted. Fatigue and dissatisfaction with each other accumulated.

"Technology" performed with great success at the rock festival in Tallinn. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, the guys gathered stadiums with thousands of spectators. The group traveled a lot with tours in Russian cities.

After the reunion, the musicians continued to play concerts in clubs. In 2003, they performed with synthpop legends, the German band Camouflage. Most often, "Technology" performs its hits from the first albums. The audience at their concerts usually wants to remember their favorite tunes, and notlisten to the band's new songs.

Unexpected reunion

The first attempt to resurrect the team was made by Nechitailo, the lead singer of the Tekhnologiya group, back in 1996. In collaboration with Leonid Velichkovsky, he recorded the album "This is War". At live performances, guest musicians played along with the duet: Maxim Velichkovsky on synthesizers, Kirill Mikhailov on drums and Viktor Burko with backing vocals.

In 2002, Roman Ryabtsev, after unsuccessful attempts to build a solo career, returned to "Technology". Three albums were re-released and the recording of a new one began. It was created for several years and was released only in 2009.

In 2007, an important event for the group took place - for the filming of the crime drama "One Love in a Million" the musicians gathered their first line-up. In the frame, they played themselves at the peak of their popularity.

Changes in line-up

The original line-up of the group "Technology" included Ryabtsev, who started in the duet "Farewell, youth!", He sang and played the guitar. Leonid Velichkovsky played keyboards. Andrey Kakhaev was responsible for synthesizers and percussion. Vladimir Nechitailo joined the team during the recording of the first album.

Changes in the group began with the start of concert activity. At live performances, Velichkovsky was replaced by Valery Vasko. Ryabtsev in 1993 signed a contract to record a solo album with the Frenchradio station Radio France Internationale, and left "Technology" for several years. Andrey Kokhaev soon left too.

After the reunion in 2002, one of the founders, Leonid Velichkovsky, left the team. By that time, he was already running his own business, unrelated to music, and there was no time left for the group. His place in the updated "Technology" was taken by two new musicians - Alexey Savostin and Matvey Yudov with backing vocals and keyboards. Previously, they worked with the "Module" group.

Three years later, one of the founders returns - drummer Andrey Kokhaev. But in 2011, he again leaves the group with Alexei Savostin. In 2017, Ryabtsev once again became interested in a solo project. "Technology" remained in the following line-up: Vladimir Nechitailo - frontman, Matvey Yudov - arrangements, backing vocals and keyboards, Stas Veselov on drums.

The participants of "Technology", in addition to the main team, were also engaged in other musical projects. In the early nineties, one of the founders of the group, Leonid Velichkovsky, devoted a lot of time to producing the aspiring performer Lada Dance.

Roman Ryabtsev gave his own projects a total of ten years. He has released six discs, including one based on material recorded in France. He has arranged songs for many famous musicians. He has his own recording studio where he works as a sound producer.

According to the former lead singer of the group"Technology", recording in France gave him invaluable experience of interacting with live musicians. There, he was able to acquire not only good instruments, but also musical techniques that no one in Russia has yet used.

Team Nechitailo was a pioneer in Russian music in the early nineties. After the successful techno-pop album "Everything you want" in 1992, they released the first album of cover versions in Russia, "I need information".

The second of the studio albums was released in 1993. It was called "Sooner or Later". The following records were complicated by line-up changes. But all the same, in 1996, the disc "This is a war" was released, which was created by Leonid Velichkovsky and the lead singer of the Tekhnologiya group Nechitailo.

The band's last album so far was "The Bearer of Ideas" in 2009. In 2019, the release of another disc called "The Man Who Doesn't exist" is planned. In addition, there are several singles and collections with songs by the Tekhnologiya group of different years.

One of the singles, "Brave New World", was also released in English. Swedish musician Robert Enforsen participated in the recording.

The history of "Technology" has not been calm. With each subsequent break, the team members spoke less and less flatteringly about each other, blamedtheir failures, then women, then artificially heated ambitions. In fact, the contradictions within the team grew like a snowball from the first years of its existence.

Ryabtsev publicly announced his intention to seek a ban on his former colleagues from performing songs of his composition during concerts. Vladimir Nechitailo and the musicians were indignant at the fact that he was exclusively engaged in PR for himself, and did not even interview the rest of the group.

"Tekhnologiya" still plays concerts in small metropolitan clubs and venues in other regions of Russia. Synth-pop music is no longer as popular as it was in the early nineties. But old loyal fans still come to the performance of their favorite bands to feel nostalgic about the past. Vladimir Nechitailo, together with "Technology", continues to perform for them.
