Boris Dobrodeev was born in 1927, on April 28, in Voronezh. For several years he lived in Tbilisi. In 1949 he graduated from the screenwriting department of VGIK. Among the classmates of our hero was Alexander Volodin. As a student, he worked as a freelance special correspondent for the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper. This is how Boris Dobrodeev began his professional career. Mosfilm opened its doors to him at the time of the “small film”. There he was invited as an editor of the script department and managed to achieve phenomenal success. Its leader was Konstantin Kuzakov. After a while, our hero became the deputy editor-in-chief of the studio. Since 1957 he began to work as a screenwriter. He worked in cinematography for about 60 years. Participated in the implementation of more than 80 full-length documentaries and feature films.
Karl Marx and The First Teacher
Boris Dobrodeev created manyscreenwriting for feature films. Let's turn to the most famous of them. He took part in the creation of the television series “Karl Marx. Youth". The plot tells about the fate of an outstanding scientist - a female mathematician, who was one of the first representatives of the fair sex who devoted herself to Russian science.

The tape was released in 1979. Next was the TV series "Split". Our hero worked on it together with D. Vasiliou. The director was S. N. Kolosov. The tape was released in 1993. The picture tells about the drama of social democracy in Russia, as well as about the historicaldefeat of this phenomenon during the second congress of the RSDLP. All these events led to the emergence of Bolshevism and its victory. The film also highlights the theme of human friendship between Lenin and Martov, which turned into enmity.
Our hero showed himself in non-fiction films. On the basis of his scripts, several dozens of various documentaries were embodied. Their main genre is historical and biographical. The pictures tell about composers - Shostakovich, Borodin and Beethoven, about writers - Ehrenburg and Gorky, about scientists Gubkin and Mendeleev, about statesmen - Frunze, Kollontai and Krasin, about Chkalov (pilot), about Ilyushin (aircraft designer). A number of tapes, based on Dobrodeev's scripts, raise the theme of the anti-fascists of the 1930s, the events of the Civil War in Spain. Many of these works have received international recognition.
Later, our hero took part in the creation of the film "Gorky's Friend - Andreeva". The plot tells about this public figure and actress. The picture was awarded the "Golden Dove" - the main prize at the International Film Festival in Leipzig.
Further there was work on the film "People of Earth and Sky". Its plot tells about Yu. Garnaev - Hero of the USSR, test pilot. The film was awarded the Silver Dove at the Leipzig International Film Festival.
The next work - "This is a restless student" - talks about the riots that took place in 1968. The film was awarded the International Student Union Prize at the Leipzig Film Festival.
The next tape - "Nine days and all life" - tells about L. S. Soboleva, a doctor who saved people during 3 outbreaks of the plague. This work won the main prize of the Oberhausen International Film Festival. The film "The Ninth Height" tells about the heroes of construction projects in Siberia. The next work was the painting "Airplanes Sing". It is dedicated to the aircraft designer S. V. Ilyushin. The tape won a prize at the Leipzig International Film Festival.
Awards and prizes
Boris Dobrodeev was awarded the Lenin Prize in 1982 for the screenplay for a film about Karl Marx. His work on the painting "The Ninth Height" was also noted.
