So, Igor Kapranov, a former performer of the metal band "Amatori", having gone to the monastery, raised many questions from his fans. Let's try to reveal some secrets.

Igor Kapranov: biography

The future soloist was born on 1986-15-06 in the town of Sovetsk near Kaliningrad. By this time, his parents were supposedly already divorced, so the upbringing of little Igor was done by grandparents.

At the age of four, the mother took the baby near Leningrad to the city of Vsevolozhsk. In the same place, his sister Katya appeared.

In 2008, he graduated from the State Forest Engineering Academy in St. Petersburg. Studied at the Faculty of Forestry.

28.09.2012 Igor Kapranov got married, his wife Yekaterina Goncharenko had been his girlfriend for a long time. Two months before the wedding, they got married.

12.03.2013 a son appeared in a young family, who was named Plato.

Even in his school years, Igor mastered the guitar well. After the seventh grade, he recognized TarasUmansky, with the help of which in 2001 he joined the Stigmata group as a guitarist. True, during this period with his participation, the group did not release full-fledged discs.

01/9/2004 "Amatori" band gave a concert in St. Petersburg "Orlandina". Kapranov was invited as a guest to the stage, where he performed the song.

This was a good success and made a good impression on the team members. He was asked to become the vocalist of the group, replacing Alexei Ovchinnikov, who had friction with the rest of the team due to differences in musical tastes.

Igor Kapranov immediately agreed to become the new soloist of the Amatori band and left Stigmata.

He organically joined the new team, which, with his help, began to develop well.

His charisma, energy, impulsive behavior on stage impressed the fans of the band very much.

2005 brought the group with a new vocalist the single "Black and White Days", which quickly became popular. A clip was immediately made for it.

Productive group work

In the same 2005, Igor Kapranov, whose photos began to appear more and more often in rock magazines, became the winner of the Rock Alternative Music Prize project as the best vocalist of the year.

With his participation, "Amatori" recorded three albums in the studio, released a number of singles and 3 DVD editions. The team gave more than one hundred successful concerts.

27.11.2009 "Amatori" group released the single "Crimson Dawn" and announced their intention to prepare a new album. At this point, the band was on tour with Sick and loud.

During the concerts, a fresh track "Evil Empire" was presented, by this period the work on the instrumental of the new album had been completed. For the summer of 2010, the band is scheduled to play several shows at various rock festivals.

Unexpected departure of vocalist

28.06.2010 Igor Kapranov unexpectedly announced that he intended to leave the rock party and devote himself to religious activities - to retire in the monastery walls. This statement was completely unexpected for his fans and gave rise to a lot of gossip among rock fans.

There have been many publications and various discussions about this. The musician was received by the Valaam Monastery.

In April 2011, Igor published an audio recording of congratulations to the members of the Amatori group on the tenth anniversary of the formation of the team. About himself, he said that he feels great.

He explained the reason for leaving the group with personal problems and a desire to radically change his lifestyle in order to streamline everything inside himself.

In August of the same year, he gave an interview for the A-ONE TV channel, where he explained the reasons for his departure to the monastery walls. They also expressed their intention to take part as a guest in the concerts of the anniversary tour of "Amatori".

Slightlylater, the group "Amatori" re-recorded the composition "Shards", where the voices of two vocalists sounded simultaneously - Kapranov and Vyacheslav Sokolov, who replaced him in this capacity in the group. The same composition served as the basis for the video clip "Shards 2011".

Spring 2012 was again remembered by Igor's fans for the fact that he suspended his creative activity and actively took care of his family.

In May 2014, Igor participated in the filming of the video "Forget Me Not", created by Jane Air.

To the question of the correspondent Ilya Shum about what was the musician's path to church life and what was his attitude to rock music, Kapranov answered as follows.

For him, existence in church life has become quite natural, and therefore he simply does not think about it, just as, for example, no one thinks about how the breathing process takes place, everyone just breathes and that's it. Rock music has become simply boring for him, it cannot be taken seriously by him.

Igor offered to evaluate the latest clip of "Slayer": if its creators consider their work serious, then, according to Igor, they should be in a psychiatric hospital, as socially dangerous individuals.

Currently, as a member of the Russian-Byzantine choir, which bears the name of Pachomius Logofet, he is actively engaged in practical liturgical and educational activities.
