In 1985, the Mosfilm studio made a film about a master of tap dancing in the 1950s. His name was remembered for a long time by admirers of his talent. The name of the master is Alexey Ivanovich Beglov. The film received the poetic title "Winter Evening in Gagra".
The film is still remembered and reviewed, and various quizzes are held on its basis, asking the participants questions: "How much did Arkady pay for Beglov's lesson?", "What version of the monument did Arkady suggest to Beglov?", "How did the master explain the unexpected Appearance of a student? etc. You can find answers to your questions by watching this wonderful movie.
Movie plot
The picture "Winter Evening in Gagra" tells about the forgotten master of tap dancing. Alexey Ivanovich is retired, lives modestly. Rhythmic dance, beating the melody with your feet, stood at the head of the entire film. It is said that if the master loses his memory, he can always repeat his magnificent work with his hands. In this case, Alexei Ivanovich's legs, despite his advanced age, beat off the same eminent tap dance. Forgotten by all, Beglov walks around the city alone, remembering his young years. He recalls that unforgettable evening when he tap danced with his only beloved daughter.
Fate favors the master. She gives him a second chance and sends him an interesting young man named Arkady. He wants to become a student of Beglov and is ready to pay money for classes. Due to the difficult financial situation, the master agrees.
Master of tap dancing Alexei Ivanovich Beglov
The main character Alexei Ivanovich Beglov after his triumph works as a dance tutor. Young pop dancers treat their teacher with respect and love. But the management does not approve of the old principles of the tap dancer. No one speaks directly about this, but sarcasm and misunderstanding are heard in their words. Pop singer Melnikova openly clashes with Alexei Ivanovich, calling him "no one" with contempt. Unfortunately, the management decides in favor of the famous singer at that time and fires the tutor. Runs above conflicts. He doesn't show disappointment in his buddies. The Master realized long ago that his time had passed. Young and talented artists have taken his place.
Throughout the film, Alexei Ivanovich recalls that very winter evening spent in Gagra, when he beat the tap dance with his daughter. Then they danced for themselves, for the soul.
Student Arkady Grachev
The second main character in the film "Winter Evening in Gagra" is Arkady Grachev from Vorkuta, a young man with great ambitions and "great" data. I decided to perform on the stage, and helpin this, in his opinion, Aleksey Ivanovich Beglov owed him. Arkady came to a tap dancer with a broken leg and began to ask him to teach him how to tap. The student is completely confident in his abilities and offers Beglov money for classes. The future teacher did not want to refuse money. This prompted Alexei Ivanovich to teach an already elderly student.
Relations between Beglov and Grachev
At first, due to their difficult characters, closeness and misunderstanding, the teacher and student often quarreled and argued. Beglov tried to instill in Grachev a love and soul for tap dance as a dance, and not a way to make money. Only now the student does not want to listen to his teacher at all. A modern stereotype of life has formed in his subconscious.
Arkady does not accept the position of Alexei Ivanovich about his complacency to the dance. The question of which version of the monument Arkady proposed to Beglov can characterize the relationship between two people. After all, the answer to it is so banal and primitive.
Which version of the monument did Arkady suggest to Beglov?
The audience forgot the former tap dancer so much that they buried him, announcing his death on TV. Oddly enough, but even after a quarrel, Beglov first turned to Grachev for help. Apparently, he at that time turned out to be the closest person for an elderly tap dancer.
So what version of the monument did Arkady suggest to Beglov? Answer: a pink tuff stele. There are two sides to this answer. On the one hand, Grachev did not care about his teacher, and therefore he was already talking aboutmonument, instead of sympathizing. But on the other hand, Arkady, despite disputes and conflicts with Alexei Ivanovich, considers him a truly great master of his craft. Only Arkady helped Beglov restore his name.
Film actors
The film "Winter Evening in Gagra" brought together the most famous and amazing actors of that time. The director of the film, Karen Shakhnazarov, carefully approached the selection.
The choice of location for filming was out of the question. By unanimous decision, it was decided to organize filming in Gagra. Against the backdrop of the Gagra colonnade at sunset, a memorable step dance was staged by Alexei Ivanovich Beglov and his daughter in the film "Winter Evening in Gagra". A photo of the landscape after the film was released in cinemas hung in almost every home.
The audience saw the famous and respected actor Yevgeny Evstigneev as the master of tap dancing Beglov. Director Karen Shakhnazarov at first was firmly convinced of his decision to shoot Yevstigneev in the film. As a young man, he had doubts and made additional tests. Evgeny Evstigneev himself really wanted to play the role of Beglov. His desire helped to finally approve the actor for the role.
The little-known actor Arkady Nasyrov played the role of young Alexei Ivanovich Beglov. After the film was shown, the actor did not become famous. He starred in two more films, and now teaches tap.
Then still a young actor Alexander Pankratov-Cherny played the role of Arkady Grachev. He was remembered for the famous and beloved film "We are from Jazz". On the set of this film, Alexander andmet director Karen Shakhnazarov.
Natalya Gundareva did an excellent job with the role of the singer Melnikova. As the director himself says, the role was written specifically for the famous and talented actress.
Of all the Russian films "Winter Evening in Gagra" is the only one that reflects the world of tap dance and its dancers. There should be more such paintings, they instill the culture of modern youth.

Imagine his disappointment when the poet found out that he was allowed to live not in St. Petersburg or Moscow, but in the old family estate of Mikhailovsky, cut off from the outside world
