He single-handedly recorded the instruments, and then mixed them with the melodies of the songs. This project did not find great popularity. Pain only appealed to Hypocrisy fans and some critics. Everyone quickly forgot about Peter's independent project. The musician said that Hypocrisy is just heavy music, and a lot is mixed in his project: from melodic lines to electronics.

After some time, Peter Tägtgren released a new album called "Rebirth". He received very high praise now not only from the fans, but also from other people, and brought good fame to Peter. "Rebirth" is not at all like the musician's past works: there is something new and cool sounding here. Peter did a very painstaking work on an independent project. After the release of the album, the popularity of the Pain solo album skyrocketed.

Success

Already in 2002, the musician recorded the third album of his Pain project. Texts of songs about pain and violence. The album conveys a very dark energy and sad atmosphere, the same as in past works. The new album titled Nothing Remains The Same contains the very popular song Shut Your Mouth, which literally everyone has heard. This composition held its position in the top twenty Swedish hits. Dance with the dead

In the CIS countries the solo project Pain became popular in the spring of 2002, just when the album Nothing Remains The Same was released. According to the results of the eminent German magazine Metal Hammer, this disc became the best in June of that year. Peter Tägtgren toured with his band Hypocrisy in European countries, including Germany. It was the first series of concerts in Europe, held in the autumn.
