Pavel Vasiliev was born in Kazakhstan, in a city with the beautiful name Zaisan. The date of birth of the poet was a windy day on December 25, 1910. Pavel's parents are the simplest people with average incomes. My father taught mathematics. The love of literature was instilled in the poet by his mother. However, the grandfather and grandmother also played an important role in the formation of the grandson's personality. Pavel Vasiliev listened to the stories they composed with pleasure every evening. Such an interest in knowledge contributed to the fact that at the age of 10 he became interested in poetry and tried to write himself.

In 1926, Pavel received his secondary education inPavlodar. Good studies and a desire to learn allowed the future poet to enter Vladivostok University. Diligent studies contributed to success in the study of Japanese literature. The young talent was noticed, and in October 1926 the editors of the Vladivostok University published his first poem "October". The newspaper in which he was published was called "Red Young". To get on the pages of such a publication meant recognition of merit, and every reader had no doubt: Pavel Vasilyev was a poet. The situations in which Vasiliev had to go were not easy. In 1927-1929 Pavel Vasiliev lived in Novosibirsk, Omsk and many other cities. He began to devote much time to traveling around Siberia. In order to feed himself, Pavel had to work very hard, while he mastered many professions - from a worker in gold mines to a steering fishing vessel. It was not only the financial condition of the poet that was difficult. He experienced a real literary crisis, because during these years not a single one of his works was published. Various life situations could not break the true vocation of this person. He did not give up, because he always knew about himself: Pavel Vasiliev is a poet. The biography is supplemented by years of successful study at literary courses in Moscow, which were considered prestigious among novice writers.

In 1929 recognition came. Pavel Vasiliev began to print many magazines in the capital. The need for a large amount of material suddenly increased, so Vasiliev writes diligently and a lot. The result of painstaking work by the end of 1930 was the poem "Song of the death of the Cossack army." The work turned out to be very voluminous, so newspaper publications printed only separate excerpts. The whole poem was published only in 1932 by the Novy Mir magazine.

Publications brought fame to the author. At the peak of his youth, Pavel Vasiliev became popular. The biography of the poet is overshadowed by the political events of that time. In 1932, Pavel, along with fellow poets, was arrested for several months. They were accused of participating in the banned group of writers "Sibiryaki". The participants in this meeting were considered counter-revolutionaries. Pavel Vasiliev's cellmates were: Evgeny Zabelin, Leonid Martynov, Sergey Markov. Pavel's friends were sentenced to three years, and the city of Arkhangelsk became their place of exile. Pavel received a suspended sentence.

1935 was the most fruitful year in the life of Vasiliev Pavel Nikolaevich. The biography of the poet is full of dramatic events. Among them there was a place for the betrayal of friends. The success of the poet provoked hatred and envy. Many of the poet's "friends" wrote letters to the editor asking them not to publish Vasiliev, citing various implausible arguments. The editors stopped cooperating with him. The result of this tense situation wasa fight initiated by employees of the editorial office of Komsomolskaya Pravda. Pavel Vasiliev was arrested and imprisoned for a year. In 1936 he was released. However, having a presentiment that this will not last long, Pavel writes one of his best poems - “Farewell to Friends”. This work carries all the pain of the soul and regret that he will not be able to see the people dear to him.

In 1937, Pavel Vasiliev was arrested by the NKVD. This time, the reason for the detention was the suspicion of organizing a terrorist act directed against Stalin. Moreover, Pavel Vasilyev was assigned the role of a performer. The place of the last refuge of the poet was the Lefortovo prison. After interrogations, his beautiful signature got worse, the letters lost their legibility, and in the end turned into one continuous line. Exhausted by the most cruel tortures, with a broken spine, almost blind, he was taken to the courtroom. The verdict was announced on July 15, 1937. Pavel Vasiliev was only 27 years old when he was declared an enemy of the people and sentenced to death. The meeting lasted no more than 20 minutes, after which the sentence was carried out.

The young and talented poet had many trials. Unfortunately, he did not even have his own grave. For a long time, the poet's burial place was unknown. Only in the 80s was it possible to restore the picture of the events of that time and find the last refuge of the poet. It was a mass grave No. 1 of the Donskoy cemetery with unclaimed ashes. The 1930s were the most difficult for the whole country. Every famous writer was subjected to repression. Pavel Vasiliev did not become an exception - the biography is short, because the life path turned out to be only 27 years long. The poet's life is told by the talented works that he left behind.
