Army

It is for this reason that after graduating from school, the young man entered the Leningrad Military Engineering School named after Andrei Aleksandrovich Zhdanov. Later, Edward joined the ranks of the Soviet army. Edward even participated in the fighting. For example, the writer suppressed the so-called Hungarian uprising of 1956. During his service, Edward dabbled in literature and wrote short stories. Khrutsky liked this activity, it was for this reason that it was decided to leave the army in order to do what he loved.
Literary activity
Soon Khrutsky was demobilized. To gain experience, Eduard works in various Moscow periodicals. For example, Khrutsky wrote for the notorious newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets. Nevertheless, Eduard received his first serious literary work only in the 1960s. He was one of the authors and compilers of the annual collection called "Duel". However, Eduard had little editorial activity. It is for this reason that he begins to write his first novel. Thus, soon a book called "The Fourth Echelon" will be born, which consists of seven stories. The author talks about a special department for the fight against banditry, which functioned during the Great Patriotic War. It is also worth noting that the events of the book go far beyond the Great Patriotic War. Thus, the first story, en titled "ICC reports …" tells the story of a young man Ivan Danilov, who in 1918 had just joined the ranks of the OBB. In turn, the last story "One Hundred and First Kilometer" takes place in the early 50s of the twentieth century.
Due to the fact that Edward had certain connections and reputation in literary circles, the publication of the book was not a big problem. When The Fourth Echelon hit bookstore shelves, the limited edition sold out almost instantly. The main reason for the popularity of this work is the thematic direction. The theme of war was quite popular at the time.
With the help of his novel, Eduard began to actively move up the career ladder. He began writing scripts for various feature and television films. Thus, Edward can be safely considered the father of such cult films as "On the corner, at the Patriarchs", "According to the criminal investigation department", "The Lastautumn" and "Proceed to liquidation".
In 2009, the publishing house "Terra" published a collection of Khrutsky's works, which consisted of ten volumes. And in 2012, the studio "Father Frost" shot a new twenty-episode film called "MUR". The film was based on Khrutsky's novel and told about the adventures of Danilov, head of the OBB.
