History

The building of the Moscow Palace of Youth began to be built in 1982, and the opening of the site took place five years later. This is a four-story house in the capital's Khamovniki district, located not far from the Moscow River. Currently, the site accommodates almost 1800 people. This is impressive not only live, but even on the layout of the MDM hall. In 2017, the theater turned 15 years old, since before the site functioned as a concert hall. The early period of existence is famous for the fact that it was in the Moscow Palace of Youth that the games of the Major League of KVN were held, as well as the filming of the TV show. However, the platform became truly grandiose in the new millennium, when big changes took place in its life.

MDM success

It was with the emergence of the theater that the venue became one of the main cultural centers of Moscow. Here they began to arrange productions of famous Broadway performances. The first of these was the musical "42nd Street" with artists from the United States of America. Later, domestic productions were also shown on the stage of the theater. Among them is the musical "12 chairs".

Shortly after that, MDM began to show the most famous masterpieces of theater and song art from around the world. The metropolitan audience was able to see such legendary works as "The Phantom of the Opera", "Cats", "Mamma Mia!" and Chicago. In addition, the original Russian version of such classics as "The Sound of Music" was staged there, and one of the recent hits of the MDM Theater - "Dance of the Vampires". This is a version of the famous work of 1967, created by director Roman Polanski, the musical based on which has been staged successfully in Europe and America for several decades.

Site renovation

In the summer of 2014, the theater was refurbished to host the largest productions, including the grandiose Phantom of the Opera. European specialists participated in the renovation, there were more than a hundred of them in total, and about 200 million rubles were spent on the work. It can hardly even be called a renovation: the theater was almost completely renovated from scratch, which made the already popular venue even better.

For starters, old equipment was taken out of the MDM theater in Moscow. Then the workers are completelyupdated the upper mechanization of the stage, and also remade the lower one. In addition, special devices have appeared in the theater that make it possible to arrange truly dangerous and spectacular performances. The acoustics of the rooms, lighting devices were replaced and many other elements were added, with the help of which immersion in the productions becomes as deep as possible and gives completely new sensations that were previously not so easy to convey to the audience.

The interior of the MDM building was also transformed, which made the theater even more beautiful in appearance. As part of the work, a marble portal of the central entrance to the hall was opened, which had been hidden from visitors for almost twenty years. In front of the theater itself, a beautiful pedestrian zone was made, which reminds of other European capitals. All the innovations and changes have made the Moscow Palace of Youth a truly modern place, which with dignity is on the list of the best venues in Russia and abroad.

MDM hall scheme

MDM is designed for a little less than two thousand spectators. It may be difficult for some visitors to navigate in such a large space, because the number of places is really large. Therefore, the MDM scheme will come to the rescue here.
