From June 26 to October 19, the Pushkin Museum hosts the exhibition "Rubens, Van Dyck, Jordaens …". The museum introduces guests to the world masterpieces of Flemish painters from the collections of major American and European museums. Of particular interest is the famous painting "Marci Rhea Sylvia" and at the same time shown a sketch for it, as well as a tapestry,woven over it. It is impossible not to mention such masterpieces as "The Finding of the Baby Erichthonius" and "Portrait of Clara Serena".
  • Ten paintings by Van Dyck - masters of the portrait. Among the presented works, made in different periods in Genoa and Antwerp, one of the best creations of the artist is "Portrait of Maria de Tassis".
  • Four works of the early creative period of the Flemish painter Jacques Jordans.
  • Paintings by the famous animal painter Frans Snyders, characterized by a dynamic style of writing.
  • The creations of the sons of the great Pieter Brueghel Muzhitsky, for centuries, of particular value to collectors around the world. Among them - "Landscape with Tobias and an Angel" (Jan Brueghel the Elder) and "Census in Bethlehem" (Peter Brueghel the Younger).

The exhibition "William Hogarth: Analysis of Beauty" (from August 8 to September 7) is held in connection with the British Year of Culture in Russia. Presented are 68 engravings by the famous British engraver and painter, as well as sheets made by engravers from France based on famous paintings by Hogarth. In addition, there are illustrations for the artist's treatise "Analysis of Beauty", which gave the name of the exposition. The treatise is not scientific, it is a creative manifesto of the master, in which he helps answer the question of what is beautiful and what is ugly in art.

In the halls where the permanent exhibition is located, samples of modern art are successfully disguised next to ancient monuments. "Mimicry" - this is the name of the exhibition of the famous Belgian artist WimDelvoye, who presented more than 20 works in the genre of neo-baroque and pseudo-gothic sculpture. Made using the latest technology from marble, carved steel and other materials, ultra-modern, ironic works amaze with their high-quality workmanship and the ability to play with everyday objects in an unusual way.

First exhibition in the new building of the Department of Private Collections

This year (2014) celebrated its 20th anniversary of the Museum of Private Collections of the Pushkin Museum im. Pushkin.
