It has existed since 1930. Initially, it was called a theater for children. Since 2014, the chief director of the Youth Theater has been Svetlana Svirko. She is famous for her original performances not only in Ukraine, but also in Russia. In St. Petersburg and Moscow, they talk about her as a talented director. Her fame was brought to her by the experimentalstaging of the work of F. Dostoevsky "Uncle's Dream". The Youth Theater received great success thanks to the play "Potap Yurlov". It premiered in 2010. The performance was recognized as one of the best productions in Ukraine. Another high-profile premiere took place in 2012. It was the piece "Warsaw Melody". The main role in the production was played by the famous actress Nonna Grishaeva.

Youth Theater was awarded various prizes, awards, prizes and diplomas for its performances.

In 2010, a young and very energetic man, E. Buber, became the director of the theater. Thanks to him, the Youth Theater has multiplied its achievements and successes. Eugene is a graduate of the famous Shchepkin school. E. Buber is a popular actor in Ukraine. Later he became a successful manager in the arts industry. In 2015, Evgeny received the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine. On his initiative, The Nutcracker was staged at the Youth Theater, but in a dramatic version that was unusual for the viewer. The name of this performance is "Princess Pirlipat". In 2011, this production was recognized as the best performance for a children's audience.
