Shein Alexander Samuilovich - Soviet and Russian director, screenwriter, winner of numerous awards, Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
The early years of Alexander Shein
Shane Alexander was born in 1933 in Moscow in the family of theater administrator Samuil Abramovich Shane and housewife Klara Borisovna Driban. In addition to Alexander, two more children were brought up in the family - Fedor and Irina. From childhood, the future director absorbed the creative atmosphere of the theater, attended almost all premieres, and was personally acquainted with many actors and directors. Work in the theater was his dream, and she was destined to come true. Therefore, when the time came to choose a profession, Shane Alexander did not hesitate for too long and decided to enter the theater. True, before entering the university, young Shane had to work as an assistant director at the Yermolova Theater until 1956. However, these years could not be considered lived in vain, during this time the future director and screenwriter had the opportunity to thoroughly study the entire mechanism of the theater, hidden from the viewer, which was very useful to him in his future activities. And only in 1958 Shane Alexander was enrolled in GITIS, where he studied at the directing departmentuntil 1963 on the course of an experienced master Yuri Zavadsky.
Alexander Shein - director
However, not yet having a diploma, Alexander begins to try his hand as a director. So, in the period from 1961 to 1962, he worked in a number of theaters in Kazan, Tula and Moscow. In 1962, he was involved as a second director on the filming of the film "Hello, children!", This was Alexander Shein's first film work. The film tells about the tragic fate of a Japanese girl who fell ill with radiation sickness after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and then, by the will of fate, ended up on vacation in the Artek camp on the Black Sea coast. Shane Alexander collaborated with director Mark Donskoy on this work.
The first independent film work of Alexander Shein was the tape "Family Happiness" based on the novel by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov "Nerves", the film involved such stars of Soviet cinema as Valentin Gaft, Alisa Freindlikh, Vyacheslav Tikhonov, etc., however, despite on this, the tape did not have much success.
Multi-screen cinema
Starting from 1970, the era of split-screen cinema begins in the life of Alexander Shein, he was destined to become the father and founder of this direction in the domestic expanses. The essence of multi-screen cinema is to display several thematically related pictures on one screen. This direction was developed in the West in the first half of the twentieth century, however, for the Sovietcinematography was new. For a modern viewer, there is nothing surprising in the "multi-screen spectacle", but it is worth remembering that we are talking about an era far from digital technologies. As part of this project, Alexander Shein became the organizer and head of the Sovpolikadr creative workshop, which was engaged in shooting documentaries and journalistic films using the split-screen method. During the workshop, Alexander Shein took about 13 paintings. Among which are "Our March", "International", "I am a citizen of the Soviet Union" and other tapes. In particular, the film Our March won the Golden Dove Grand Prix at the Leipzig International Film Festival. Most of these works praised the Soviet system and promoted it in every possible way.
Few people know that Alexander Shein himself starred in several film roles, although these works were episodic, but still worth mentioning about them. So, many people remember him for his role in the first Soviet disaster film "The Crew" (1979), already at a mature age, A. Shane took part in the filming of the popular TV series "Two Fates" (2002), where he played the role of Osetrov.
Family
Shein Alexander Samuilovich was married, became the father of two children - daughter Katerina and son Alexander. The latter followed in his father's footsteps and became a well-known film director and producer. The daughter is far from the cinema, but her occupation is connected with art and creativity - she is the administrator of art exhibitions.
