The real name of the future star CEl is Lee Che Rin. She was born on February 26, 1991 in the city of Seoul, from which, however, she soon left, as her father got a new job. So she traveled around the world for her father, a physicist, by the age of thirteen she had traveled half the world. But most of the time Li Che spent in England, Paris and Japan, because of which she perfectly mastered English, French and Japanese, while she knew almost no Korean.

Back in her native South Korea, she returned as a 15-year-old teenager with a clearly defined goal - she wanted to become an idol who could conquer the whole world with her talent. To do this, in 2006, she passed a difficult selection and became a trainee of the YG agency, where she worked hard, honing her singing, rapping, and dancing skills, she studied Korean and practiced acting. The result of this fruitful work was her debut in 2007 at the SBS Music Awards.

The beginning of the creative path of CL in the group 2NE1

Korean singer-songwriter CL has been hard at work since her debut, and it has paid off. Thanks to her diligence and talent, in 2008 she was able to win the favor of the demanding public by performing a bright rap part in the song of DJ Um Jung Hwa. However, Chae Rin failed to remain a solo artist, as the company's director decided to make her the leader of the new girl group 2NE1, which was supposed to become an analogue of the Big Bang boy group.

The debut of the new girl group took place on May 17, 2009 with the bright song Fire, which immediately took the top lines of the charts and music charts in both Korea and other Asian countries, where it lasted for several weeks. But as soon as the track went down a little, a new hit I don't care from 2NE1's first mini-album took its place.

Despite the fact that Chae Rin was given a serious responsibility as the leader of the group, in parallel with the group promotions, she worked with many other celebrities. She wrote the words and music of songs, recorded rap parts with other artists, starred in the videos of Korean and even world stars.

So, in 2009, the song of the singer CL Please Don't Go, recorded together with Minzy, was released. Then she participated in the recordingthe female part of the track The Leaders from G-Dragon's solo album. In 2012, the girl performed with the world-famous group The Black Eyed Peas at the MAMA music awards, and in 2013 at the same award she conquered the stage, performing with the Swedish band Icona Pop.

After Chae Rin won over millions of people around the world with her talent and charisma and acquired her own fan club called CLASSIFIED, in October 2014, company director Yang Hyun Suk gave CL a real gift, allowing her to start working over a solo album.

From that moment on, the performer began to work tirelessly under the guidance of Scooter Braun, trying to give her best. And as a result, in November 2015, the song Hello, Bitches was released, which became a teaser for her album Lifted, which was then released on August 19, 2016. For about two years, Chae Rin worked on this album, remaining the militant leader of the 2NE1 group, which was going through difficult times during this period.

For almost 2 years, fans have been steadfastly waiting for her solo debut. Therefore, it is not surprising that, as soon as the album was released, it was sold out by the fans of the singer CL in a minute, which inspired the performer and gave her strength for new achievements.

The breakup of the group and the revival of the singer from the ashes

But no matter how happy Chae Rin was about her solo debut and popularity with the public, the breakup of the group, which took place in November 2016, was a strong blow for her. With her classmates, she spent side by sideside for almost 10 years. During this time, they jointly suffered so many victories and defeats that they became one family. The harder it was for each girl to be separated, which parted them on opposite sides of the barricades. Therefore, in order to say goodbye to each other and to their fans, the members of 2NE1 released their farewell song Goodbay, and only after that they broke up forever. But only on stage, because their friendship did not fade away after that, and the girls continued to support each other.

So over time, the sadness of the group's breakup subsided, and CL and his groupmates began to try to promote on their own. Some people do it, some don't, but CL really managed to rise from the ashes, as evidenced by a photo taken in 2017 of Korean singer CL, where she simply beams with happiness. And how could it be otherwise if she again promotes solo, participates in various programs and variety shows, and even became one of the hosts of the new survival show Mix 9, where she passes on all her acquired skills to a new generation of idols, inspiring the guys with memories of her difficult creative way.
