On October 10, 2012, an accident occurred in the capital that claimed the life of popular actress and TV presenter Marina Golub. During the investigation, it was found that in the late evening of October 9, Golub, who was returning home after another performance, caught a private cab. Driving a Hyundai car was 44-year-old driver Dmitry Turkin, who was deprived of his license until the end of autumn 2013.

A fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Lobachevsky Street and Vernadsky Avenue at 00:05. 4 cars collided at onceat high speed.
