Cymbal is an instrument with cymbals ranging in size from 5 to 18 centimeters. In modern music, cymbals are sometimes referred to as cymbals. This instrument is also often confused with cymbals, although these are completely different concepts. At the same time, one must be careful not to confuse it with antique plates introduced by Hector Berlioz.

The cymbal is an instrument with a mysterious history. It is impossible to say exactly from which culture or country it came down to us. The origin of the term can be attributed to Greek, Latin, German or English. However, one can make an assumption based on when and where the cymbal was mentioned.

In ancient Greek culture, for example, it is most often found incults dedicated to Dionysus and Cybele. If you look closely at the sculptural compositions, frescoes and vases, you can see a cymbal in the hands of various mythical creatures or musicians serving Dionysus. In Rome, this phenomenon has become widespread thanks to the ensembles of percussion instruments operating there.

Despite the created dissonance, the cymbal is mentioned not only by myths and legends, but also by Church Slavonic laudatory psalms. Two types of cymbals originate from Jewish culture.

Cymbal is an instrument that is difficult to confuse with others in appearance. The differences between the concepts of interest to us are obvious. One instrument has paired iron cymbals, and the other has a trapezoidal wooden soundboard with strings. The origin of the instruments is also different. Presumably, the cymbal has come down to our days either from Rome or from Greece.

Dulcimers are known on the territory of modern Belarus, Ukraine and Hungary. In fact, only the sound is the same for both instruments. Cymbals have strings, but are partly percussive.

The named ancient instruments have a sharp, relatively loud, ringing sound. Perhaps that is why some people easily confuse them. In the modern world, both instruments are widely used in Slavic countries and beyond.

The cymbal is an instrument used to this day to accompany temples to create a sound effect. Its use in orchestras is notso widespread, while antique plates are gaining more and more popularity. These instruments are very similar, but have several fundamentally different features.

Cymbals, unlike cymbals, have a relatively high, gentle and clear ringing, it can be compared with the iridescent sound of crystal. Cymbals are located on special racks, up to five pieces on each. They play on cymbals with a thin metal stick. Moreover, the name of this instrument comes from the second name of cymbals, which are sometimes called cymbals.
