Marina Poplavskaya - actress, singer, comedian, producer, TV presenter, philologist, teacher. She was a participant in several Ukrainian and Russian television projects: "For Three", "Diesel Show", "This is Love", "Kraina U". She was the captain of the KVN team. Marina was the winner of the "Voicing KiViN" festivals, was a member of the jury of all-Ukrainian festivals in Zaton.
Biography
Marina Poplavskaya was born on March 9, 1972. She is a native of the city of Novograd-Volynsky, Zhytomyr region. The girl grew up in a Catholic family. Marina's roots originate from noble Polish ancestors. Her great-grandfather Vicenty Lewandowski was a baron.
From a young age, the girl dreamed of becoming a teacher. After graduation, she continued her studies at the Zhytomyr State University at the Faculty of Philology.
After receiving a red diploma of higherEducation Marina Poplavskaya got a job at school No. 26, and then No. 33 in the city of Zhytomyr. There she worked in the acquired speci alty as a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature for twenty-three years. Marina also served as a class teacher. Over the years of her work, she was recognized as the best teacher in the city. And I always considered this my greatest merit.
Even when Marina became a public figure, she continued her teaching activities. In addition, the actress was the head of the drama club at school. Only in 2017 did Poplavskaya quit, citing a busy performance schedule.
Creativity
In 1993, Marina Poplavskaya was invited to KVN. She was the captain of the "Girls from Zhytomyr" team. Four years later, her team took part in the performances of the Premier League. They failed to achieve great results.
Later, Marina and her team performed at the "Voicing KiViN" music festivals. Here she had great success. Everyone remembered the unusual voice and songs of Marina Poplavskaya. In 1997 and 2011 the band won the festival.

The image of the Ukrainian wife she created was especially popular. The role of the husband was played by Evgeny Smorygin. This couple fell in love with the audience of the "Diesel Show". Fans especially appreciated the song "March 8", which ridiculed the attempts of the Ukrainian government to ban this holiday.
Participants of the program joked a lot on political topics. The "hand of the Kremlin" beloved by the Ukrainian authorities, on which all the troubles of the country were attributed, also served as an occasion. Marina Poplavskaya was never married, she had no children of her own. The woman gave all her warmth and energy to her beloved nephews and students.
Death
Marina Poplavskaya passed away under tragic circumstances. On October 20, 2018, she was riding a bus along with other participants in the Diesel Show program along the Chop-Kyiv highway.
The accident occurred at about seven o'clock in the morning near the village of Mila near Kyiv. The actors were traveling from Lviv to the capital. About fifteen kilometers remained to the Svyatoshinsky district. Nothaving lost control of the bus, the driver collided with a DAF truck. He hit the vehicle at full speed at over a hundred kilometers an hour.
There were fourteen people on the bus at the time. Marina Poplavskaya was sitting in the front seat. This circumstance played a fatal role for her. The driver and all passengers, except for Marina, survived. Only she died. Four passengers were in serious condition, the he alth of the rest was not in danger.
The bus driver was arrested at the scene. It is assumed that he fell asleep at the wheel. The detainee was accused of violating traffic rules, which resulted in the death of a passenger. A criminal case was opened.
On October 21, 2018, a farewell to the beloved actress was held in Kyiv, and on October 22, they said goodbye to her in Zhytomyr. A funeral service was also held here. On the same day, Marina Poplavskaya was buried in the Central Alley of the Korbutovsky cemetery.
Memory
After the tragic death of Marina Poplavskaya, at a meeting of the Zhytomyr City Council, it was decided to award the actress the title of Honorary Citizen of the city. The artist was posthumously awarded the Order of Merit of the third degree. A documentary was filmed by ICTV in memory of the beloved actress.
