Biography

Marina Poplavskaya was born on March 9, 1972. She is a native of the city of Novograd-Volynsky, Zhytomyr region. The girl grew up in a Catholic family. Marina's roots originate from noble Polish ancestors. Her great-grandfather Vicenty Lewandowski was a baron.

From a young age, the girl dreamed of becoming a teacher. After graduation, she continued her studies at the Zhytomyr State University at the Faculty of Philology.

After receiving a red diploma of higherEducation Marina Poplavskaya got a job at school No. 26, and then No. 33 in the city of Zhytomyr. Death

Marina Poplavskaya passed away under tragic circumstances. On October 20, 2018, she was riding a bus along with other participants in the Diesel Show program along the Chop-Kyiv highway.

The accident occurred at about seven o'clock in the morning near the village of Mila near Kyiv. The actors were traveling from Lviv to the capital. About fifteen kilometers remained to the Svyatoshinsky district. Nothaving lost control of the bus, the driver collided with a DAF truck. He hit the vehicle at full speed at over a hundred kilometers an hour.

There were fourteen people on the bus at the time. Marina Poplavskaya was sitting in the front seat. This circumstance played a fatal role for her. The bus driver was arrested at the scene. It is assumed that he fell asleep at the wheel. The detainee was accused of violating traffic rules, which resulted in the death of a passenger. A criminal case was opened.

On October 21, 2018, a farewell to the beloved actress was held in Kyiv, and on October 22, they said goodbye to her in Zhytomyr. A funeral service was also held here. On the same day, Marina Poplavskaya was buried in the Central Alley of the Korbutovsky cemetery.

Memory

After the tragic death of Marina Poplavskaya, at a meeting of the Zhytomyr City Council, it was decided to award the actress the title of Honorary Citizen of the city. The artist was posthumously awarded the Order of Merit of the third degree. A documentary was filmed by ICTV in memory of the beloved actress.
