The actors of the film "Bridge of Spies" since the release of the picture on the screen have gained worldwide fame not only due to their excellent work, but also due to the fact that this film won the Oscar. The roles and images here are distinguished by thorough elaboration and psychological authenticity, so the characters are very interesting for the viewer.
Short description
The actors played a big role in making the movie popular. "Bridge of Spies" can really be called a great success of the director. This picture is dedicated to a rather dramatic episode from the Cold War. Spielberg chose for the script the story of the exchange of the Soviet agent Abel for the American pilot Powers and one student arrested in the GDR. The complex political background did not prevent the director from accurately and balanced approach to the image of this difficult moment in the history of Soviet-American relations. That is why the actors were of great importance for conveying the psychology of the characters. "Bridge of Spies" in this regard can be called a successful experience in creating films with complex political overtones. The director very competently and carefully approached the solution of this problem, showing his characters as difficult people, eachof which are worthy of respect and understanding in their own way.
Main character
The actors deserve special interest when considering a new project. Bridge of Spies was one of the most successful films of 2015. The main character was played by Oscar winner Tom Hanks. He perfectly embodied on the screen the image of an American lawyer who was assigned to defend a captured Soviet intelligence officer. This hero is interesting primarily for his humanistic views. He was one of his entire entourage who did not see the enemy in the ward, recognizing that he was only doing his job and duty to the country.
Because of such beliefs, he had to face misunderstanding not only of the general public, outraged by such behavior, but even of his own family. The wife of James Donovan (the main character) refused to understand him, the same can be said about the children. And only by the end of the film, after a successful exchange, does he find sympathy and understanding.
The image of Abel
The success of the film is largely determined by the fact that the director chose the actors very well. "Bridge of Spies" is interesting for the respectful attitude of the screenwriter and director to the image of the Soviet intelligence officer, Rudolf Abel, who is protected by the main character. He was brilliantly played by British actor Mark Rylance, who deservedly received an Oscar for his work as the best supporting actor. He portrayed a man of courage, calm and cold-blooded, who does notconfused even when he was threatened with a death sentence and execution. This image of a level-headed and reserved person is opposed by the American judiciary and the general public. Abel finds a common language with his lawyer. Despite the fact that they belong to different socio-political systems, both respect each other.
Other characters
The film "Bridge of Spies", whose actors largely determined the success of the film, has become one of the most prominent recent film projects. Separately, it should be mentioned about the role of the second plan. E. Ryan played the wife of the protagonist. Her image is very interesting from a psychological point of view. This woman strongly follows conservative views, but is nevertheless worthy of understanding. The fact is that she, condemning her husband for his protection of the Soviet intelligence officer, takes care of the safety and prestige of her own family. A woman thinks first of all about children and sometimes forgets about universal values. From this point of view, her character seems extremely ambiguous and complex.
Oh. Stowell embodied on the screen the image of the American intelligence officer Powers, who, while carrying out the task of command, found himself in the same situation as Abel. He was arrested and sentenced to a long prison term. This character is interesting in that he is, as it were, a mirror image of the Soviet intelligence officer, who also deserves understanding and indulgence.
The image of the Soviet ambassador
One of the most successful projects of 2015 was the filmSpy Bridge. Russian actor Mikhail Gorevoy was also involved in its creation. He played the role of the second secretary of the Soviet embassy in the GDR.
This character is very complex and ambiguous. On the one hand, he appears to the audience as a stern and strict person who, at first glance, is not in the mood for dialogue. Nevertheless, the director showed that this hero, Ivan Shishkin, is not so unambiguous: he also acts in certain political interests, which ultimately determined his model of behavior. Russian actor in the film "Bridge of Spies" Gereva created a memorable image of the Soviet ambassador to East Germany.
