This article is not dedicated to the creative work of the famous French storyteller Charles Perrault, but to his magnificent tale of eternal love, devotion, human kindness and hard work. She knows no language or age barriers. A beautiful fairy tale "Cinderella" is out of time. The leading television studios of the world will film it, and music will be dedicated to it. She inspired more than one composer to create wonderful pieces of music. Isn't the staging of Sergei Prokofiev's ballet on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater brilliant? With bated breath you listen to the plays of Gioacchino Rossini, Eugene Schwartz, operas by D. Steinbelt, N. Isoire, E. Wolf-Ferrari and Jules Massenet. There are no superfluous words here, only music that reveals the whole gamut of human feelings and aspirations. This story knows no end, it is immortal, like all human values. Kilometers of film footage have immortalized her in feature films, cartoons and theatrical productions. Movies about Cinderella are equally interesting for both children and adults.

"Cinderella" - a movie from our childhood

Every generation has its own Cinderella, evilstepmother and lazy sisters. They are the epitome of their era. Who doesn't know the 1947 black and white Cinderella strip? Children of three generations have been watching it with undisguised interest and delight. Well, how can you not be surprised when a kind sorceress comes to visit you and with just a wave of her magic wand turns you into a princess, cherevichki into crystal shoes, and a pumpkin into a gilded carriage.

The idea of creating this wonderful film belonged to the famous theater director Nikolai Pavlovich Akimov. A friendly, creative team (with screenwriter Evgeny Schwartz and director Nadezhda Koshevarova) managed to create an unforgettable film, in which there is a place for both good humor and evil satire. Miniature Yanina Zheymo in the role of Cinderella, once striking a child's imagination, settles in it forever. With what femininity, ease and grace she played this role. Our grandmothers and mothers loved to sing the fervent song "Become children, become in a circle …".

However, few people know that she owes her popularity to the performer - Lyubov Chernina. How brilliant in the role of stepmother was the irresistible and beloved Faina Ranevskaya. Inimitable humor, irony and catchphrases made her heroine unique. Who does not remember her sacramental phrase: "It's a pity, the kingdom is not enough, I have nowhere to roam." The eccentric king played by Erast Garin, who is always ready to go to the monastery, or the sincere boy page, whose words (“I'm not a magician, I'm just learning”) cannot but cause a smile, can rightly be called winged.

Colour version of Cinderella

The best proof of the legend of this picture is the fact that in 1967 the film "Cinderella" (1947) was reanimated at the film studio "Mosfilm". And in 2009, a color version of this film was released on TV screens, created in collaboration with the Lenfilm-video studio, the Krupny plan company and the American Legends Film studio.

Nostalgia for the past

Cinderella movies become a favorite in every family. In 1949, W alt Disney Pictures creates a wonderful cartoon adaptation of Charles Perrault's fairy tale Cinderella. It was followed by full-length sequels: Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True (1949, The W alt Disney Company) and Cinderella 3: Evil Spell (2002, The W alt Disney Company). Unique animation, colorful images, interesting storyline made these cartoons bestsellers in the world of animation.

The hand-drawn Soviet cartoon Cinderella, which was created at the Soyuzmultfilm studio in 1979, is becoming a beautiful new version of this story. With special warmth and lyricism, Ivan Aksenchuk transferred to the screen the classic work of Charles Perrault. A special place in the cartoon is given to musical design. Perfectly fitting into the outline of the story, the music touches to the depths of the soul, emphasizing the full power of feelings and experiences.

Dreams are eternal, problems are real

Many people probably remember the romantic film Three Nuts for Cinderella. This film premiered on November 1, 1973of the year. The popular film was the result of the creative work of the Czechoslovak film studio Barrandov and the German film studio Babelsberg. The fairy tale "Three Sisters" by Bozhena Nemtsova was the basis of the film script. Shootings of unique beauty took place in castles such as Moritzburg (Germany), Lednice (Czechoslovakia) and the picturesque Šumava.

Miracles in this film happened without the participation of the fairy godmother. The magic hazel has become a source of magic. Libushe Shafrankova, at the age of 19, played her first role - the role of Cinderella, having deservedly won national recognition and love. Many years later, Libuse still retains the title of the best princess in the world of filmmaking. And the indisputable fact that Pavel Travnichek in the role of the prince managed to win the hearts of almost the entire female audience only confirms the boundlessness of amateur sympathy, which cannot be expressed in words.

This fairy tale has gained popularity in many European countries. On Christmas Eve, it is traditionally shown on television in Germany, the Czech Republic and Norway. Perhaps such a high popularity of the fairy tale lies in absolutely non-trivial things. After all, deep down everyone wants to share the fate of Cinderella for at least one film.

Emancipation, or Call of the Time

In 1998, cinemas again turn to the image of Cinderella. The fantasy American film "The Story of Eternal Love" is released on the screens. But in this freely retold fairy tale by Charles Perrault, Cinderella has evolved noticeably. “Dream. Dare. Run away" ismovie slogan. The main character, played by Drew Barrymore, already bears little resemblance to a defenseless, poor girl. Daring and brave - she is ready to challenge not only her stepmother, but also fate. The events unfold in France of the sixteenth century, and therefore the musical accompaniment sounds completely unconventional and somewhere even boldly - a cheerful song by the Texas rock band. The debut of the picture took place in America, where almost two-thirds of the total box office receipts were collected. Critics did not leave the picture without attention, calling it a real feminist story. However, moviegoers favorably accepted the picture, and later the novel, the basis of the storyline of which was the film "The Story of Eternal Love".

Life without love is not life

As if in unison with these words, director Biben Kidron creates his own modern image of Cinderella, played by Marcella Plunkett. The television film Cinderella was first released on January 1, 2000 in the UK, and deservedly won, according to critics, the title of the most disturbing and modern version of the fairy tale.

It's hard to argue with the fact that the twists and turns of fate are unpredictable. Borrowing this idea for his film, director Gavin Millar offers his own, new and unconventional version of the fate of Cinderella. The plot was taken from Gregory Maguire's Cinderella: The Big Sister's Version. And this writer, who has a peculiar approach to retelling classic children's stories for an adult reader, has no need for originality. Here in the novel"Cinderella: Big Sister Version" the main character Clara from the rich heiress of her father turns into Cinderella. Not without sorcery, of course. And her new sisters are turning from evil envious people into her best friends.

Look inside you are stronger than you think

The world premiere of the British-American romantic comedy "Ella Enchanted" took place on April 9, 2004. A wonderful fairy tale for adults from director Tommy O'Haver is more of a fantasy genre. Therefore, do not be surprised by the mysterious world of the main character and its mysterious inhabitants: fairies and giants, trolls and elves, cannibals and giants, good people and villains. A little girl, because of a spell, becomes the owner of the gift of obedience, which, sadly, turns against her. Looking through the film "Ella Enchanted", one involuntarily wonders if we are able to cope with everything in this life and even with ourselves.

Bright and rich scenery, musical arrangement unusual for this genre, humor inherent in the characters create a special, unforgettable atmosphere of positive and magic. And now you are ready to hum along with Ella a cheerful song Somebody To Love.

It all starts with desires …”- a film that premiered in 2008 in Russia. And the idea of this truly kind and bright fairy taleowned by Alexander Barshak and Yuri Morozov.

"Cinderella" by Uwe Janson

Let it sound a little sentimental, but Cinderella films behind the external variety of images of the main character hide the invariable richness of the human soul, beauty and sincerity of feelings.

German director Uwe Janson offered his own version of the fairy tale for the whole family, bringing it as close as possible to the original version of the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. The film "Cinderella" in 2011, the world premiere of which took place on December 25, turned out to be quite sweet and bright: there is a place for love, justice, courage and honor. Never take revenge, even on a defeated enemy - this is the main appeal of this modern fairy tale with a happy ending. Cinderella (2011) received critical acclaim from audiences and critics.

Sergey Girgel's version

In 2012, director Sergei Girgel presented his version of the story about the unfortunate stepdaughter girl, the evil stepmother and the beautiful groom - the melodrama "Hotel for Cinderella". One could call this story fabulous, but in life there is always a place for something unusual, magical, non-trivial. And let it seem unrealistic to you, but the princes still meet. You just need to be able to recognize them out of a thousand, out of a million. "Hotel for Cinderella" is the favorite film of many of the fair sex.

In closing

What is the success of such a simple fairy tale? It is no secret that Charles Perrault based the story of Cinderella on a folk tale, where a person who has nothing but a dream finds everything in one moment. Such a story would hardly have had the right to success. But this is not a simple retelling, but up to a certain point a realistic, reliable and, to some extent, social history. Pay attention to the high degree of truthfulness Charles Perrault describes life: Cinderella had to clean the stairs and rub the parquet floors, iron the sisters' linen and starch the collars. How masterfully he draws the line between the position of Cinderella and her sisters.

The viewer is imbued with compassion and sympathy for the poor stepdaughter, he perceives the plot as absolutely real, forgetting about its fabulous origin. And already at some subconscious level, we believe in the appearance of a fairy and in her miracles, even if they are short-lived. We no longer notice where reality ended and fiction began. Or maybe we just don't want to give up on our dream. But the kind and insightful storyteller warned that he sees his readers as “people with good taste and enoughastute to understand that these tales are written for entertainment, and their content is not too deep. Still, do not deprive yourself of the opportunity to dream, for "the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

The Cinderella movies are truly legendary. Everyone should see them in order to find themselves in the world of a fairy tale and believe in a miracle at least for a minute. Happy browsing!
