And she did well, because her eldest son had no surviving male children. After the death of Murad, Ibrahim became the sultan. Kösem again became an un titled ruler of the Ottoman Empire. But Ibrahim, due to mental illness, not only quarreled with his mother, but also began to pursue a policy that brought the empire closer to collapse.
