Biography

Valery Todorovsky was born on May 8, 1962 in Odessa. His father at that time worked as a cameraman at a film studio, and his mother developed her talent as a producer. The boy spent all his free time disappearing with his father at the film studio. He really liked being there: he liked to look at the scenery, study the props, watch the process of installing cameras. He especially enjoyed watching his father work.

“My father is not a supporter of strict parenting rules. I had a lot of free time and I am happy that I had a wonderful childhood that I spent in such a beautiful city as Odessa. Producer

And then perestroika broke out, which abolished censorship and proclaimed glasnost. All of a sudden they all became producers. People of creative professions wanted to have complete freedom of choice and make their own films. At the same time, Valery Todorovsky was no exception.

On an equal footing with Livnev and Tolstunov, he creates his own film studio "TTL". As a director, he begins to work on the films Hearse, Love Evenings, Moscow Evenings, which bring him fame and recognition.

Artist… that's not the point

Try on the role of the artist Valery Todorovsky, whose filmography is represented by only a few films in which he directly participated, did not specifically intend. He saw himself as a director, although it seemed to him that he had not yet achieved high skill in this field.

And, although he already had experience in this direction of the film industry, having once filmed the TV series Kamenskaya, he intends to develop his talent. As a result, he produced a whole arsenal of quality series, including: "The Killer's Diary", "Brigade", "Linesfate”, “Red Chapel”, “Men do not cry”.

Todorovsky admits that cinema and his family are central to his life. He is not a public person at all, which is confirmed by the fact that the director is not a frequent guest at social events. Valery also cannot sit idle for a long time and indulge in idleness. Todorovsky simply does not have any other hobbies other than cinema.

He doesn't even insist on keeping family traditions, and even chooses a place at the dinner table depending on his mood.

Private life

The actor tries not to talk about his personal life. However, sometimes it is rarely possible to hide anything from pen sharks, so some information about him and his family nevertheless became known.

Todorovsky's first wife Valery is the daughter of the famous writer Victoria Tokareva. Natasha (that was her name), like Valery, was a student at the screenwriting department of VGIK. The future married couple met in the cafeteria of the university. The marriage lasted for a long time only thanks to the tolerance of Natalya Tokareva, who knew how to be condescending to the extravagant acts of her husband. However, this was not enough to save the family, which eventually fell apart. At the same time, Valery does not have a soul in his own children, trying to devote as much time to them as possible, although this does not always work out.

Today's wife of Todorovsky is a young actress Evgenia Brik, with whom the directormet at the screen test of one of the series.

Valery Todorovsky not so long ago became a father for the third time - he had a daughter, who was named Zoya. The director admits that he likes to read fairy tales to her before bedtime.

In his fifties, he is full of strength and energy, which is spent exclusively on filming films and working on television.
