But, compared to the film productions listed, the franchise started by Carpenter is destined to live forever, regardless of creative crises and individual failures. Chronology of events according to filmmakers

Cult franchise includes horror series: Halloween (1978) by John Carpenter, Halloween 2 (1981) by Rick Rosenthal, Halloween 3: The Time of the Witch (1983) by Tommy Lee Wallace. Also, the name of the main antagonist was included in the title of each subsequent tape, with a hint of what he would do in this series: "The Return" (1988) from Dwight Little, "Revenge" (1989) by Dominique Autenin-Gerard, and in 1995 Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) by Joe Chappelle was released.

In 1998, the seventhPart of the movie series Halloween: 20 Years Later. And in 2002, the inimitable maniac was brought back to life again with the Resurrection film, but the most interesting thing awaits fans of the genre in the relaunch of Halloween (2018). In addition to these projects, the franchise includes two interesting remakes "Halloween" (2007) and "Halloween 2" (2009).

Every fan of the horror genre remembers very well how the story began, and still disturbing the film community. One of the most extraordinary psychopaths, Michael Myers, due to a fortunate combination of circumstances for him, escapes from a specialized hospital, in which he has been under the close supervision of staff and especially Dr. Sam Loomis for the past fifteen years. His face is hidden behind a mask, which is natural on the eve of Halloween. He commits a series of bloody murders for reasons that still cause heated debate and discussion. According to the majority opinion, in the films Michael Myers appears as the personification of "pure Evil", his obsession with the spirit of Samhain inclines to murder. However, opponents of popular belief tend to attribute his craving for murder to revenge for the mental trauma received at the vulnerable age of six. It was then that the child witnessed the carnal pleasures of the older sister with her boyfriend and finished off the lovers using a huge kitchen knife.

Mask

All photos of Michael Myers are united by one invariable detail - this is his mask. One of the cult heroes of the slasher series is distinguished not only by the strikingcruelty and a colossal number of victims, but also an ominous image. Not all fans of the terrible franchise know the true origin of the lining that hides the face of the killer.

It turns out that during the filming process of the first series, actor Nick Castle wore a comic mask of his Canadian colleague William Shatner. It started when costume designer Tommy Lee Wallace didn't get Captain Kirk's "head" while visiting an All Saints Night speci alty shop. Then the professionals got to work - Wallace enlarged the cutouts for the eyes, gave the skin of his face a bluish-gray tint, and applied several scars and cuts with makeup. As a result of his efforts, Michael Myers has acquired a hallmark that director John Carpenter was very pleased with.

At least non-trivial

The leading villain of the Halloween franchise de alt with most of the victims with a table knife, but, as it turned out, he did not shy away from auxiliary means. The authors specifically invited the unfading Curtis, who became famousafter the triumph of the original Halloween. But after the project hit a big jackpot at the box office, 5 years later, the public was presented with a sequel to Halloween: Resurrection. In the film, it turned out that Lori, having misunderstood, ruined an innocent person. In addition, at the very beginning of the tape, Michael Myers killed the heroine, bringing her entire triumph in the last series to naught. It's hard to imagine a more offensive turn of events for the heroine's fans.

40 years after premiere

Michael Myers is doing great in 2018. At the end of the year, a new epic series will be released, the second reboot in the last twenty years should be very entertaining. Jamie Lee Curtis returns to the cult role, producing the horror Jason Blum, and poring over the production of D. G. Green and D. McBride.

According to the announcement, the plot of the new film will ignore the events of all released sequels and remakes, continuing the story of the original 1978 film.
