Although "The Woman with the Beard" has never put forward her candidacy for Eurovision, every third person in Novosibirsk knows her. And even if he himself has not been to the concert, then he must have heard something about her. Yes, the group is addressed in this way - using the singular and feminine. The creative union of Varvara and Sergey formed a new, almost full-fledged, member of society.

Name

The band's name sounds rather eccentric, if not shocking. The soloist of the group, Varvara Sapozhnikova, was not afraid to pass for a girl with excessive hair on her face, like the notorious Conchita Wurst, a woman with a beard who won Eurovision in 2014.

Of course, Barbara has no facial hair. A beard is a creative pseudonym and a hallmark of another important member and producer of the group - Sergei Pisarevsky. Previously, at concerts, they introduced themselves to the audience like this: “Here is a woman, but here is a Beard, together -“A Woman with a Beard””. The group got its name with the light hand of Barbara.

History

Their jointactivity began in 2001, when they met at the Black Widow art gallery. Even then, Beard was imbued with the voice and charisma of Barbara. He invited her to perform on stage, feeling great potential in a charming blonde. At one time, Boroda organized more than one creative team, and he had experience in producing. But they only started performing officially as a new band in 2002.

Initially, Boroda did not plan to take part in the group's activities as a musician, but it was not possible to gather members into a new team. Eminent guitarists did not want to take risks by joining an unknown team. It was then that Sergei Pisarevsky decided to personally support Varvara, going on stage with her. I must say, Beard did not fail, and timid musicians probably bit their elbows for a long time, watching the success of the new team.

In a fairly short time, "The Woman with the Beard" easily won the love of the fastidious public of Novosibirsk. The musicians began, of course, with performances as an opening act for recognized bands in the same Black Widow, then they took part in the acoustic music festival Siberian Six-String Underground (S. Sh. A.). Having established themselves as a charismatic and promising team, Varvara and Boroda have already taken up regular rehearsals. First, they were joined by Alexander Kasperovich (guitarist of the Nephrite group), known in the musical environment as Khryak. Then Kirill Pisarevsky came as a drummer under the pseudonym Vepr, the son of Beard. Later on the teamYevgeny Nalivaiko, nicknamed Pig (keyboard instruments), also began to play. Then the team was supplemented by Varvara's protege - Dmitry Ganin (Ganya), the leader of the punk group N. P. V. K. When the concert activity of the "Woman with a Beard" became quite dense, the composition of the participants began to gradually change. To date, the band has many successful concerts in Omsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, the Altai Territory and the Kemerovo Region.

"Woman with a Beard" sang wonderfully with such famous performers as Chizh, Chicherina, Maxim Leonidov, Mara, as well as the groups "Time Machine", "Aria", "Crematorium" and others. Her concert activity continues to this day, but, unfortunately, it is no longer so active.

Composition of the group

The band changed frequently. For one reason or another, the participants left the team, they were replaced by new ones. Since 2002, Sergei Panyutin, a former member of the Samosad group, has joined The Woman with a Beard, replacing Dmitry Ganin. Vladimir Fil, known as a member of the bands Checked, Crossroads and Bay, temporarily took the stage instead of Panyutin in 2004. Periodically, drummer Mikhail Pavstyuk, who previously worked with the Nord-West and Free Time groups, as well as bassist Andrey Siminenko, an ex-member of the Checked, Crossroads and Thin Lori bands, played with Varvara and Beard. In 2006, the place of leader-guitarist Alexander Kasperovich was finally taken by debutant Vyacheslav Shevchenko. The permanent members of the band, its founders and inspirers, the main authors of texts andmusic - Varvara and Beard. The rest of the team today: Pisarevsky Jr. (drums), Panyutin (bass guitar), Nalivaiko (keyboards) and Shevchenko (lead guitar). This is what the band looks like today.

Woman

Varvara Sapozhnikova is a smiling blonde Janis Joplin from Novosibirsk. For her sake, in fact, the group was started. It is not surprising that the mention of it is made in the name of the team. As mentioned above, it was Varvara who suggested the original name of the group. And this, undoubtedly, betrays in her a brave, witty person with a wonderful sense of humor.

Varvara was born on Sakhalin, but most of her conscious life (after 16 years) lived in Novosibirsk. According to her, she has been fond of creativity since childhood, but it has always been at the level of a hobby, she never had a musical education. Prior to her serious passion for the stage, she worked in the field of finance, medicine, in an IT company, and even in the service sector. As a singer, she first tried herself in Dmitry Gaiduk's Sacrabanda group, but her real debut was participation in The Woman with a Beard, where she became not only a soloist, but also a songwriter. Barbara was married several times, with former spouses she maintained a warm relationship. Has a son Maxim.

Beard

Sergey Pisarevsky is also not a native of Novosibirsk. His homeland is in Tajikistan, but he grew up and studied in the capital of Siberia. Like Varvara, Pisarevsky lived for some time on the island of Sakhalin. I studied music since childhood, both in theory and in practice. He is quite tolerablemastered the guitar and piano, tried to play the xylophone, button accordion and even the clarinet. Living on Sakhalin, he worked on the organization of musical rock groups, combined this activity with work as a long-distance navigation navigator. Returning to Novosibirsk, he founded the April group, but the lack of income from these events forced him to leave music for almost 10 years. He was prompted to pick up the guitar again after meeting Varvara in 2001.

Repertoire

It is rather problematic to determine the genre in which "The Woman with the Beard" works. The musicians themselves do not characterize the direction of their work in any way, but it definitely traces the motives of rock and roll and blues, folk and reggae, jazz and bossa nova. This unusual mixture of genres gives rise to "Russian rock" of a hooligan orientation with a touch of a bard song.

Albums

The group recorded three albums: Barbadonna (2006), "Universal Love" (2011) and "Road to Altai" (2012). However, since 2002, many different songs by "Women with a Beard" have found their way into various collections from concerts and festivals, including "Cuba - my love", Megarock and Recommended Records. Also, the team regularly took part in promotions and music sessions, for example, “Short Circuit”, “Wings-2006”, a festival in memory of Tatyana Snezhina and Sergey Bugaev, as well as in a bike show (“Old Miller”, “Full throttle”, “Territory of Freedom", "Steel Wind") on a par with famous teams. Boroda founded his own Rock On competition for young performers who want to make themselves known in rockscene of Novosibirsk and the region.

Today "Woman with a Beard" gives concerts in the clubs "Pipe", "Stray Dog", Rock City, "Pulse", "Makondo" and "888". These are popular places among the local rock party.
