B. S. Bylkov is the man whose name the puppet theater (Rostov) bears today. Vladimir Sergeevich is a brilliant, creative person. He came to the Rostov puppet theater in 1968 and was full of fresh ideas and aspirations.

BeforeThis V. Bylkov served as chief director in Vladikavkaz. He took part in the festival among puppeteers, held in Volgograd, where he was noticed by the then director of the Rostov puppet theater. Vladimir Sergeevich impressed him so much with his talent that he was invited to Rostov first for one performance, and when he arrived, he was persuaded to stay permanently.

B. Bylkov was a student of Sergei Obraztsov himself. The very first performances by Vladimir Sergeevich in Rostov became a real sensation. In total, V. Bylkov staged more than 150 performances in this puppet theater during the years of his service. In them, he spoke to children in an adult way about the soul, ideals, values. All the performances of Vladimir Sergeevich were moral and were lessons of kindness. Several generations of viewers have grown up on them, who have learned to be compassionate, to be kind and honest, to understand the human soul, to love, to help others, to be faithful in friendship…

The works of V. Bylkov were awarded with numerous certificates, diplomas and medals. In 1992 he was awarded the title of "People's Artist of Russia".

B. S. Bylkov was the chief director of the Rostov puppet theater for over 35 years.

Artistic Director

Today the puppet theater (Rostov) lives under the strict guidance of A. V. Bylkova-Krat. In 1991, he graduated from the university and went to work in the puppet theater as a stage worker. After 2 years, he received the profession of director, having passed all the exams as an external student. After that, his position in the theater changed. He became a director.

Andrey Vladimirovich is the son of V. Bylkov, whose name the theater bears. He is no less talented and bright personality than his father. During the years that Andrey has been serving in the puppet theater, he has already staged more than threedozen performances. He has received awards for many of his productions.

Andrey Vladimirovich is endowed with original thinking and vivid imagination. He approaches any content with great delicacy, tries to catch what the author put into it, and convey it to the viewer.

The performances of this director have become laureates of various festivals many times.

Andrey Vladimirovich took the post of chief director in 2003. In the work on performances, he is helped by his natural organizational skills, skill, and diligence. He will devote a huge amount of time to educating his creative team. Andrey Bylkov is an amazingly efficient person.

Since 1999, the director has been teaching stage speech, the history of puppet theater and the skill of an actor-puppeteer.

He also published his own collection of poetry.

On the initiative of this creator, the Museum of Playing Puppets was opened at the theater. Anyone can visit it before the start of performances or during intermissions.

In 2004 Andrey Viktorovich was appointed artistic director of the theatre.

Several years ago A. Bylkov-Krat was invited to the International Union of Puppeteers based in France.
