The theater gained strength and expanded in the years after the war, although it received state status 12 years later, but for now it lived only at the expense of the enthusiasm and creative potential of the creators. Only in 1956 he was given a rehearsal room at 12 Vladimirsky Prospekt, but without an auditorium, therefore, the fairy tale puppet theater continued to move from place to place, which is why its performances were known and were successful not only in the Leningrad region and the city itself, but also in other cities of the country.

In the early 1970s, the theater troupe was headed by an experienced puppet director Yuri Eliseev. Together with the artist Nelli Polyakova, whom he invited to cooperate, he created many interesting performances, they were successful and received recognition both in our country and abroad.
At the same time, Nikolai Borovkov began his directorial work at the theater. With his arrival, foreign tours of the theater are increasingly organized to show fairy tales to children from different countries, and productions also began to participate and win awards in festivals at the international level.

Performances for the youngest art lovers (from 3-4 years old) are presented, for example, by the painting "The Cunning Fox", which tells about what can happen to cunning people. This is a kind and naive tale, and will surely be appreciated by a child, just like Masha and the Bear. These productions take no more than 50 minutes in time.

Since 2013, the play "Elyon. Version 2.0" has entered the repertoire of the theater - this is a fascinating story about the adventures of a fifteen-year-old boy who saved the alien planet Elyon. It was inhabited by various creatures, such as elves, trolls, gnomes, orcs and others, they joined forces against evil monsters.
The musical "The King's Sandwich", which is based on poems by English poets, and "The Circus", a puppet show about the circus, stand apart.
The world of dolls, no doubt, is closest to children who fantasize on the basis of the smallest images and give clear outlines to the fictional characters of their fairy tales. But adults who come along with the children can feel like children for a moment and plunge into the magic of a fairy tale, watching with bated breath the fate of the heroes.
