Probably, it is difficult to find a person over 30 in our country who has not watched or at least heard about the film "Sannikov Land". The actors and roles here are simply magnificent, the script was written by masters, and the direction did not disappoint. If we add here the musical accompaniment that struck all connoisseurs, it becomes clear why it turned out to be so popular. Over 40 million people watched it in theaters in a few weeks, and over the past half century, this number has increased significantly.

When the movie was made

The film "Sannikov Land" was shown for the first time in 1973. Filming took quite a long time - from 1972 to 1973. No wonder, it was filmed in different parts of a huge country, quite a lot of actors were involved, and editing took a lot of time, not to mention the numerous problems with the selection of actors, which we will talk about a little later.

Story Brief

Of course, in the film "Sannikov Land" actors and roles are able to interest the audience. But it is unlikely that the film would have achievedsuch popularity without a compelling, well-crafted storyline.

The action takes the viewer to remote Siberia at the very beginning of the 20th century. The main character - Ilyin, an exiled settler - relying on rumors and legends, persuades the owner of a rich gold mine to send an expedition to the legendary Sannikov Land - a small island beyond the Arctic Circle, where for some reason eternal summer reigned.

Perfiliev (owner of the mine) agrees and starts looking for adventurers willing to risk their lives in the hope of finding this legendary and, quite possibly, fictional island. As a result, the group is going to be extremely motley - it includes a fugitive convict, an adventurer officer, Ilyin himself and Perfilyev's servant Ignatius. Moreover, the latter receives the task of destroying his comrades if an island rich in gold deposits is discovered. It is in this composition that they will go on a journey that can bring worldwide fame to a handful of brave men or cause their death.

What was the basis for the script

Fans of good literature know that "Sannikov Land" (1973 film) was based on a popular book written by Vladimir Obruchev back in 1924 and published two years later.

Of course, when writing the script, some scenes had to be omitted and others changed to fit within an hour and a half, the traditional one-part feature film format.

In general, the work, despitefantastic, highly believable. Obruchev, being an experienced geologist, carefully worked out the details and created a working hypothesis, although extremely unlikely, but quite realistic for his time, about how an island with an almost tropical climate could appear in the harsh Arctic Ocean.

No wonder the book has been read and republished for many decades.

Who played the main roles

The film promised to be very successful - many potential viewers have read the book or at least heard about it. Therefore, the directors did not waste time on trifles at all - and the bright roles in "Sannikov Land" were to be performed by really talented actors. Which actors played the main characters?

For example, Georgy Vitsin in "Sannikov Land" played the role of Ignatius, the servant of a gold miner who received a very mean order. He succeeded in the role simply superbly - his vast experience of filming in a variety of roles, from tragic to comedic, affected.

Vladislav Dvorzhetsky in "Sannikov Land" played the main role - Alexander Ilyin, an exiled scientist who offered to send an expedition in search of a mysterious island. He did not have such a rich experience as Vitsin, having starred in less than ten films before. But his roles were bright, memorable, so he rightfully got the main role.

Yuri Nazarov played a very profound role in "Sannikov Land". After all, he got the role of Gubin - a former doctor, terrorist, escaped convict. The character turned out to be very ambiguous, but overall quite pleasant, striking many viewers.

The fourth member of the expedition was played by Oleg Dal - Evgeny Krestovsky in his performance made many viewers wipe away tears of despair at the end of the film. For generations, he embodied the image of a real officer, adventurer and adventurer for many people.

Perhaps the least experienced actor turned out to be Makhmud Esambaev. The black shaman became only the fifth role for him, and the previous ones could not boast of significance and scale. But he also did a great job.

Actors not on set

A lot of actors could grace the film, but for various reasons the audience did not see them.

For example, initially the role of Krestovsky was offered to Vladimir Vysotsky, and his wife Maria Vlady was supposed to play Ilyin's bride. Vysotsky was very inspired by the film, he even wrote three songs especially for him. However, shortly before filming began, a German radio station broadcast that he was a rebel, a dissident and practically a hater of the Soviet Union. As a result, the couple did not get on the set. But one of the composed songs ("White Silence") was subsequently performed in the film "Seventy-two Degrees Below Zero".

Another well-known singer - Muslim Magomayev - received an offer to play Ilyin. But he decided that he would not be able to play such a deep and complex role - there would not be enough actingtalent. Therefore, without hesitation, he refused the flattering offer.

The audience did not see Sergei Shakurov in the film either - initially the role of Gubin was offered to him. But it was because of him that a real scandal occurred on the site, which almost disrupted the shooting of the film. Therefore, he was replaced by Yuri Nazarov. Shakurov, on the other hand, can only be glimpsed in the already filmed episode, which it was decided not to reshoot.

Great musical score

Many viewers remember the film for its music. It is not surprising that Oleg Anofriev performed "There is only a moment" simply masterfully - for many decades this strong, heavy song became a real hit. And even today she has not forgotten the true connoisseurs of good songs.

The film was composed by Alexander Zatsepin himself, who had an outstanding talent and vast experience - by this time he had already written music for dozens of Soviet films and several famous cartoons. Well, he coped with his task 100% - even the most picky critics could not help but appreciate the music that sounded in the film.

Song rehash

The film crew had to face many difficult moments. One of them was the re-voicing of the song.

Initially, the song "There is only a moment" was performed by Oleg Dal himself, who perfectly played Krestovsky. But when the artistic council of Mosfilm viewed the recording, they criticized the performance. It was decided to entrust the performance of the song to a more experienced singer. As a result, he was electedAnofriev. Being on good terms with Dahl, he did not immediately agree, asking for a little time to think. Having phoned a friend, Anofriev asked if he minds if he sings a song. Only after Dahl agreed did he take the job. Therefore, the song that the whole country fell in love with, "There is only a moment" Oleg Anofriev performed for the film.

By the way, he also sang the song "Everything was" for the same film.

About the crew

Surprisingly, for such a grandiose idea as the film "Sannikov Land", the film crew was not the strongest. For example, for director of photography Mikhail Koroptsev, this was only the second job - three years earlier he had participated in the filming of the film "Guardian". Previously, he worked primarily as an operator's assistant.

Screenwriter Vladislav Fedoseev also wrote only one script before that - "A man plays the trumpet". At that time, the second (Mark Zakharov) had only a few scripts in the piggy bank, but among them were such films as "Train Parking - Two Minutes" and, without exaggeration, the legendary "White Sun of the Desert". Therefore, there was not the slightest complaint against him.

Could not boast rich experience and directors. For Leonid Popov, this was generally the first film. Albert Mkrtchyan by that time had shot several short films, as well as the films "Guardian" and "In difficult times".

As practice has shown, the lack of experience did not prevent the film crew from doing wellcope with the task at hand. But still, he caused serious problems.

Conflict between actors and directors

As already mentioned, in the film "Sannikov Land" the actors and roles were not ordinary. Without exception, all the main characters (both the original and the cast involved) had a lot of experience. This gave rise to a series of serious conflicts.

Experienced actors weren't at all pleased with the fact that they were being commanded and advised by inexperienced directors.

Sergei Shakurov was most indignant. He several times expressed dissatisfaction with the position of the film crew, gave advice to specialists, openly went into conflict, and in the end simply refused to comply with the requirements of the directors.

Shakurov persuaded the other performers of the main roles to boycott the work. Vitsin resisted the longest, but over time he gave up. A corresponding telegram was sent to Moscow - experienced actors demanded to change directors who did not deserve their trust.

But the leadership of Mosfilm did not make concessions in principle. Negotiations dragged on for a whole month - all filming schedules were on fire. As a result, all the actors except Shakurov agreed to work with Popov and Mkrtchyan. He was also reprimanded and Nazarov replaced him on the set.

Where the movie was filmed

It is not easy to answer the question where the film "Sannikov Land" was filmed. After all, the shooting was carried out in a variety of places - this was required by its specificity. After all, the film was supposed to show landscapes of harsh Siberia, powerful geysers, an old bell tower, rocks and waterfalls. Toaccording to the script, the film crew visited different locations.

For example, scenes were filmed in Vyborg with Krestovsky climbing the bell tower and Ilyin parting with his bride.

In order to reliably photograph Sannikov Land itself, replete with geysers, we visited Kamchatka.

For the sake of landscapes that allow us to capture the ice crossing, we visited the Gulf of Finland.

The scene where deer were sacrificed on a raft, as well as the rite of purification by a shaman, was filmed in Kabardino-Balkaria.

As you can see, actors, directors, cameramen and other film industry workers had to travel a lot. It's no surprise that filming spanned over a year.

Interesting facts

Shooting any interesting film is not complete without interesting cases. Here are a couple of them.

For example, when it was necessary to shoot a scene of Krestovsky climbing the bell tower, the film crew visited Vyborg - the landscapes were quite consistent. The only drawback is the television antennas on the roofs of nearby houses. The workers did not find a better solution than to simply climb onto the roofs and knock down the antennas. At that moment, the entire local population was enthusiastically watching an important football match. As a result, the unfortunate figures were almost beaten - in order to extinguish the conflict, the director ordered to give the locals 100 rubles each.

History has saved the text of the scandalous telegram sent by the leading actors to the studioMosfilm. Indeed, she could not boast of sophistication. The enraged actors telegraphed the following text: "We are sitting in the city … on wolf skins. Dvorzhetsky. Vitsin. Dal. Shakurov." Such audacity nearly cost some of them their careers.

Conclusion

The article contains a lot of new, interesting facts about the great film. In addition, it is described in detail both about the actors and the process of creating the film, funny and unpleasant moments that took place during filming.
