Perfiliev (owner of the mine) agrees and starts looking for adventurers willing to risk their lives in the hope of finding this legendary and, quite possibly, fictional island. As a result, the group is going to be extremely motley - it includes a fugitive convict, an adventurer officer, Ilyin himself and Perfilyev's servant Ignatius. Moreover, the latter receives the task of destroying his comrades if an island rich in gold deposits is discovered. It is in this composition that they will go on a journey that can bring worldwide fame to a handful of brave men or cause their death.

What was the basis for the script

Fans of good literature know that "Sannikov Land" (1973 film) was based on a popular book written by Vladimir Obruchev back in 1924 and published two years later.

Of course, when writing the script, some scenes had to be omitted and others changed to fit within an hour and a half, the traditional one-part feature film format.

In general, the work, despitefantastic, highly believable. Obruchev, being an experienced geologist, carefully worked out the details and created a working hypothesis, although extremely unlikely, but quite realistic for his time, about how an island with an almost tropical climate could appear in the harsh Arctic Ocean.

Who played the main roles

The film promised to be very successful - many potential viewers have read the book or at least heard about it. Therefore, the directors did not waste time on trifles at all - and the bright roles in "Sannikov Land" were to be performed by really talented actors. Which actors played the main characters?

For example, Georgy Vitsin in "Sannikov Land" played the role of Ignatius, the servant of a gold miner who received a very mean order. He succeeded in the role simply superbly - his vast experience of filming in a variety of roles, from tragic to comedic, affected.

Vladislav Dvorzhetsky in "Sannikov Land" played the main role - Alexander Ilyin, an exiled scientist who offered to send an expedition in search of a mysterious island. He did not have such a rich experience as Vitsin, having starred in less than ten films before. But his roles were bright, memorable, so he rightfully got the main role.

The audience did not see Sergei Shakurov in the film either - initially the role of Gubin was offered to him. But it was because of him that a real scandal occurred on the site, which almost disrupted the shooting of the film. Therefore, he was replaced by Yuri Nazarov. Shakurov, on the other hand, can only be glimpsed in the already filmed episode, which it was decided not to reshoot.

Conflict between actors and directors

But the leadership of Mosfilm did not make concessions in principle. Negotiations dragged on for a whole month - all filming schedules were on fire. As a result, all the actors except Shakurov agreed to work with Popov and Mkrtchyan. He was also reprimanded and Nazarov replaced him on the set.

Where the movie was filmed
