The Gorky Theater (Dnepropetrovsk) opened its doors in the first third of the twentieth century. Today, his repertoire includes performances for adults and children.
History of the theater
In 1927, the drama named after M. Gorky was opened. The theater (Dnepropetrovsk) was formed from the troupe of the Maly Drama Theater of Moscow, which at that time was on tour in the city. The idea of creating a temple of arts in the city belonged to the executive committee of the city council.
Headed the young theater of Russian drama Vladimir Yermolov-Borozdin. This is an extraordinary personality. V. Ermolov-Borozdin created the concept that the theater lives on now: "Speak about the contemporary with contemporaries in the modern language."
In the first years of the existence of the drama in Dnepropetrovsk, almost all the plays of Maxim Gorky were staged. This was the reason why the theater was named after him in 1934.
The Drama Theater has been proud of its excellent staff for all the years of its existence. Talented directors served and serve here. Performances are designed by excellent artists. And also wonderful make-up artists, costume designers,sound engineers, lighting and others.

Thanks to this, the troupe has earned the recognition and love of the public. The theater productions are included in the golden fund of the country. The names of the figures of the drama named after Maxim Gorky are inscribed in the Modern Encyclopedia of Ukraine.
The theater is actively involved in charitable activities.
For many years the troupe lived with a dream of conferring the honorary title of academic on their temple of art named after M. Gorky. Theater (Dnepropetrovsk) has recently received it. My cherished wish came true.

The Goners
This is a new performance of the drama named after M. Gorky. The theater (Dnepropetrovsk) tells in this production the story of war veterans who live in a boarding house. The performance combines light sadness, love for a person and mild humor. The story is full of funny dialogues, it has a lot of funny misunderstandings and a completely unexpected ending. The main roles in the production are played by Vladimir Zhevora, Sergei Fedorenko and Evgeny Zvyagin. They managed to create interesting, memorable and vivid images of their characters. They make the audience laugh heartily and empathize with all their hearts.
The performance was based on the play by J. Siblairas. The director was the actor Valery Zubchik.
