In 2011, the first episodes of the Turkish series in the genre of action-drama "The Magnificent Century" were released. It is based on historical events during the reign of Suleiman I. The plot is based on the relationship between the Sultan and the captive Ukrainian girl Anastasia, named Hurrem. Most of the characters have historical prototypes. In the second season, a certain Bali Bey appears - the commander of the Ottoman army. This minor character immediately aroused sympathy from the audience. It seems that he has no flaws at all. But did he really exist?

Historical prototype

Bali Bay is a real person. He came from the ancient Ottoman dynasty Malkochoglu. The years of his life are known: 1495-1548.

Bali Bay faithfully served the state first onpositions of sanjak-bey in Semendra, then as beyler-bey of Belgrade and Bosna. He showed his courage in the battle of Mohacs and earned the trust of Sultan Suleiman. Bali Bey quickly rises up the career ladder, becomes the commander-in-chief of the Ottoman army, Beyler Bey of Buda, and then even enters the sofa for a while as a vizier.

Who was entrusted to play such a brave and noble person, who was Bali Bey? The actor for this role was also chosen worthy. We are talking about Burak Ozchivit.

Character from "The Magnificent Age"

As for appearance, he immediately conquers the female audience. He is called none other than "Mr. Fantastic mustache." Burak - tall, handsome, brown-eyed brunette - is indeed one of the most attractive men on the set of "The Magnificent Century".

As far as looks and character traits go, he doesn't seem to have a single flaw. But was the real Bali Bey really so brave and devoted? The actor who played him brilliantly was able to convey the personal qualities that the historical prototype itself possessed. He devoted his whole life to serving the Ottoman Empire and, in particular, to the Sultan himself. He always put the interests of the state ahead of his own. He is strikingly different from other representatives of the court nobility in openness, straightforwardness and nobility, so no one can persuade him to participate in palace intrigues. This character of the series is smart and prudent enough to avoid dangerous situations. Can't even believethat all these qualities are combined in one person, who was Bali Bey. The actor, however, tried to combine the courage of a warrior, respect and gallantry towards women, and also masculine charm.

Despite the increased attention from the weaker sex, Bali Bey's personal life does not add up. Either at first he had to endure the death of his first wife Armin, then because of mutual feelings for Aibiga, he almost lost his head. Further, the audience hoped that he would reciprocate Mihrimah's love, but this did not happen either.

In the end, the ruler of women's hearts leaves Istanbul for his homeland.

Actor biography

Burak Ozcivit became simply megapopular after he played the noble Ottoman commander, who was Bali Bey. The actor, whose biography began to arouse interest especially after appearing in this series, was born in Mersin in 1984. Tall height and spectacular appearance played a role in choosing a profession: from 19 to 23 years old, he worked as a model, has prestigious awards to his credit, for example, first place in the national beauty contest in 2003.

Offers to play in the movies were not long in coming, especially since Ozcivit had a corresponding education - a diploma from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Marmara.

First there was a small role in the film "Minus 18" (2006). Then the proposals to act fell in like a bucket: in 2007 there was participation in the TV series "Husband under duress", in 2008 - "Family House", then -"Betrayal" (2010) and "Little Secrets" (2010). Thanks to the role of Bali Bey in the "Magnificent Century" (2011-2013), he became recognizable not only in Turkey, but also abroad. He also played Kamran in the third film adaptation of the film "Korolek - a singing bird" (2014).

This prominent handsome man is still a bachelor, but he had a long-term relationship with his colleague on the catwalk Ceylan Chapa. He is currently dating Fahriye Evgen, who played Feride in "The King", but there is no talk of a wedding yet.
