The plot of the film "Nerve" introduces the viewer to the main character Vee Delmonico (Emma Roberts), who is gaining the necessary passing score for admission to an elite art university. Simultaneously, Ian and V feel a growing sympathy for each other. The friend of the main character Tommy begins to be jealous and worried. Overly liberated Sydney is very jealous of her friend, because it is she who wants to be the star of Nerva, she is ready for almost anything to increase the number of her subscribers. On top of that, V begins to suspect that Ian is hiding something, but it is already impossible to leave the game.

Paranoid thriller quest

The film "Nerv" has more than one director, it was created by co-directors Henry Joost and Ariel Shulman, who receivedworld fame in 2010 after the release of the documentary project "How I was friends on a social network." In their work, the creative duo explored the sophisticated fantasies of ordinary people who came up with a parallel life in social networks. After they honed their directorial skills in the third and fourth parts of "Paranormal Activity", but, as it turned out, they did not forget about the danger and attraction of the World Wide Web. Nerve (2016) is based on the novel of the same name by Jeanne Ryan, which was adapted for film by screenwriter Jessica Sharzer. The picture as a whole is dedicated to how far young people are willing to go for "likes" and what their peers are ready to doom when they put "likes", discussing characters, completing quests and defeats.

The further, the more, though slowly, "Nerv" sneaks into the territory of the thriller and almost horror. However, the authors do not dare to go as far as they could in such a case. An experienced movie fan will immediately note that after an intriguing beginning and an energetic middle, the picture towards the end only outlines the blows, and does not hit backhand. A climax that claims tonatural "tin", it turns out to be too soft when all the behind-the-scenes ups and downs become clear. Naturally, such a development of events caused a lot of complaints from viewers who were deceived in their expectations. Why did the authors decide to soften the story? Because, according to their statement, the project is addressed to young people whom the thriller will be able to teach something useful.
