"Slavianski Bazaar" in Vitebsk is an international festival of various kinds of art. Its main goal is to unite creative people from different countries, through art to achieve mutual understanding and peace.
History of the festival
For the first time the festival "Slavianski Bazaar" was held in July 1992. It was founded by three non-profit, private organizations. This is the "Culture Center" of the city of Vitebsk, the director of which at that time was Rodion Bass. "Rock Academy" from Ukraine led by Nikolai Krasnitsky. And also "Irida" (Russia), the director of which was Sergey Vinnikov. They also developed the position and program of the festival. Rodion Bass became the director of "Slavianski Bazaar". Sergey Vinnikov - general producer and chief director. In the first year alone, the festival attracted more than a thousand guests and participants from different countries.
In 1995, film screenings were included in the Slavianski Bazaar festival program for the first time. Participants every year becameMore. In 2003, the Days of the Union States were included in the festival program. In the same year, a music competition for children was held for the first time. In 2007, the stage of the Summer Theater was reconstructed, where the main events of the festival are held.
Symbol
The main symbol of the festival "Slavianski Bazaar" is a flower cornflower. It was designed by an artist from Moscow, Alexander Grimm. It is depicted on the emblem as a note. Next to it is the inscription "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk". Around this composition, the text in two languages - Belarusian and English - "International Arts Festival".

Annually the "Slavianski Bazaar" program includes the following events:

About the competition
The main thing at the festival has always been and remains the contest of pop song performers. Over the years, the jury members were experts from different countries. At the very first competition in 1992, Vladimir Mulyavin was the chairman of the jury. This is the creator and first head of the legendary VIA"Songs". The name of the competition itself has changed several times. However, the goals remained the same. Participation in this competition is a great success. And the victory in it is considered a prestigious award. All contestants, under the terms of the competition, sing live, without the use of both plus and minus phonograms, accompanied by the National Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus conducted by Mikhail Finberg.
This festival is a unique chance to show yourself, become famous and get a ticket to the big stage. The winner of the competition receives a diploma and a cash prize. His performance is included in the final concert "Slavianski Bazaar", dedicated to the closing of the festival.
Contest conditions
In 2016 the festival "Slavianski Bazaar" will be held from 14 to 18 July. Artists, not younger than 18 and not older than 31, can become its participants. Each contestant must have experience of performing, be a winner or diploma winner of any music festivals or competitions.
First, the management selects participants. To do this, each contestant sends the required materials about himself.
The contest is held in two stages. This is the semi-final and the final.
The jury consists of popular composers, pop singers, producers, poets, journalists, managers.
The winner is the participant who scored the most points in two competitive days. If the jury considers that no participant meets the criteria for the winner, then the Grand Prix is notawarded.
Competitors who win any place receive cash prizes.
A contestant may be disqualified for violating the rules of the position, absent from rehearsals, not respecting copyrights, pressure on judges, conflicts and indecent behavior.
