David Keosayan is a representative of the famous acting and directing dynasty, which was formed back in the era of Soviet cinema. He, of course, is not as famous as his brother, director Tigran Keosayan. But he also has several successful directorial and producer works.
David Keosayan: family, photo, early years
Our hero was born on April 10, 1961 in Moscow. His father is the Soviet film director Edmond Keosayan, who became famous in the 60s. of the last century, having removed the cult trilogy "The Elusive Avengers". David's mother is the Armenian actress Laura Gevorgyan, who starred in the films "The New Adventures of the Elusive", "Men" and "When September Comes".
David Keosayan, whose family was directly related to the cinema, got his first acting experience at the age of 5. He played a boy farmer in his father's directorial work The Elusive Avengers. After 2 years, the offspring of a famous dynasty reappeared in the frame, this time in the episode "New Adventures of the Elusive". And in 1970, David appeared as a homeless child in the film The CrownRussian Empire, or Elusive Again.”
Having passed the “baptism of fire” as a child, the eldest son of director Edmond Keosayan was not interested in the acting profession. Therefore, in 1983 he entered the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University. As an actor, he no longer appeared on the screens, but he found his place in the creative team in off-screen space.

After a while, our hero realized that he was still not indifferent to the film industry. But in this area he was more attracted by the commercial side than the artistic side. Starting in 1983, David Keosayan began to study the basics of promoting domestic cinema abroad, internship at Sovexportfilm (now Roskino).
During the collapse of the Soviet Union, David took advantage of his experience and took over as CEO of a company that produced music videos, television commercials and series.
From 1994 to 2004 Keosayan Sr. changed jobs several times, until in 2004 he became the general director of the Art-Bazar Studio production center. Such a position allowed David to realize several of his own directorial ideas, as well as join the Russian Producers Guild and become a member of the Nika Academy.
The producer has been married to Anahit Keosayan for many years. The couple has an adult daughter - actress Laura Keosayan, known for the TV series Sklifosovsky and Juna.
Director's work
David Keosayan shot his first film as a director in2005. It was a 4-episode drama "The Mistress" with Irina Rozanova in the title role. Keosayan Sr. invited his younger brother Tigran and several other famous Soviet actors to the cast of the project: Vladimir Shevelkov (“Midshipmen, forward!”), Boris Nevzorov (“Young Russia”), Lyubov Matyushina, Tatyana Kravchenko (“Vassa”), Andrey Ilyin ("The Flying Dutchman") and others.
The plot of the picture tells about a strong and tenacious woman Elena, who has a wonderful career, but her personal life does not stick at all. Unable to understand men, the lawyer begins an affair with her client, who later turns out to be a serial killer.
A year later, David Keosayan releases the mini-series "Three Half Graces" on television screens. This film belongs to the genre of comedy melodrama and tells how three friends of Balzac age are looking for happiness in their personal lives. The project's executive team included Evgenia Dmitrieva ("Sklifosovsky"), Alena Khmelnitskaya ("Russian Amazons"), Tatyana Vasilyeva ("Hello, I'm your aunt!") and Fyodor Bondarchuk ("State Councillor").
In 2007, as a director, Keosayan Sr. shot the serial detective story Love on the Edge of a Knife, the plot of which is dedicated to the adventures of lawyer Armen Sarkisov performed by Armen Dzhigarkhanyan. Daniil Strakhov ("We are from the Future"), Olga Lomonosova ("Don't Be Born Beautiful") and David Keosayan's daughter Laura also took part in the filming.
Production work
David Keosayan released many more projects inas a producer. In 1997, he organized the filming of the sparkling comedy "Poor Sasha" with Alexander Zbruev and Vera Glagoleva.
Then the era of serials came, and Keosayan Sr. switched to multi-part films: "The Dossier of Detective Dubrovsky", "Directory of Death", "Men's Work", "Turetsky's March". The last production work of David Keosayan is the melodrama “The Sea. The mountains. Expanded clay", filmed by order of Channel One in 2013.
