Almost twenty years ago, the TV and radio airs of the country "blew up" a novelty - the group "Beasts" with songs in the genre of pop-rock. Today "The Beasts" and their soloist Roman Bilyk, better known as Roma the Beast, is a recognized classic of our stage. What path did Roman go through before reaching fame and finding his listener?

Childhood

Roma was born in the southern city of Taganrog in early December 1977. In the family, in addition to Roma, two more sons were growing up - the eldest Edward and the youngest Pavel. Roman's parents were ordinary people: his father Vitaly worked as a turner at a factory, his mother Svetlana devoted more than twenty years of her life to working in a taxi, and before that she was a race car driver.

At school, Roma studied as usual, and in general was an unremarkable boy - like everyone else. He hung out in the company of friends like him, spent time in the way that is customary among young people. And in high school, he suddenly became interested in music, having independently learned to play the guitar. True, at that time nothing foreshadowed that that long-haired, lanky, awkward boy in five years would becomefrontman of a pop-rock band and conquer the whole country.

Study. Moscow

Many believe that if you are an artist, then you should get the appropriate education. However, not all artists have the necessary crusts. So Roma the Beast is an absolute self-taught. And he received a profession … in an ordinary technical school of his native city - he studied there as a builder, later he received the same speci alty in the corresponding college. Moreover, for some time the future musician even worked in his speci alty. At the same time, Roman was already seriously interested in music, began to compose and play something. And then there was a failure in love, his native city began to seem gray and uninteresting, and Roman thought: there is nothing to lose. So, practically light, but full of inspiration, plans, hopes and enthusiasm, in the summer of 2000, the aspiring musician arrived in Moscow.

First time

The first steps in Moscow were not easy. In order to sell songs (and record them), a producer was needed, connections were required, which Roman Bilyk (the photos are presented in this article) did not have.

But there was a need for food and housing, and therefore it was necessary to earn it all. At first, Roma worked in his speci alty. And then he pulled out a lucky ticket.

Alexander Voitinsky, a producer whom Roma met by chance, became the lucky ticket. I met by chance, and then collaborated for many years. Having heard Romina's recordings, Voitinsky understood: the guy is good, he has potential. So in the fall of 2001, the "Beasts" group appeared: Roman Bilyk,both a vocalist and a guitarist, and in addition to him several musicians.

Up the stairs

The musicians' debut single was called "For You". In February of the following year, a video was released for him. He immediately attracted the attention of the audience and brought a certain popularity to the beginning group. This year, 2002, the year of the launch of "Beasts", turned out to be very successful for Roman Bilyk and for the whole team. They somehow immediately, as they say, "flooded." First, they successfully "shot" with their debut song, then, in the summer of the same year, they performed at the "Invasion" festival, where all rockers are invited … In the fall, their second video for the second single was born - the song "Just such a strong love." Both the track itself and the video for it immediately got into the rotation of major music radio stations and entertainment TV channels.

On this wave of success, the "Beasts" recorded their debut album called "Hunger". It was released in 2003 and only strengthened the position of the team, significantly increasing the number of fans of the gang.

"Beasts": on the way with good luck

Usually, musical performers have their ups and downs, but fortune has never betrayed Roman Bilyk's group. And it's wonderful! New clips, new songs, new albums, active concert activity… Seventeen years have already passed since the band was formed. A lot of things happened with the group itself - the composition changed, someone left, someone came. The members themselves grewinternally, the frontman of the band Roman also changed. Now forty-year-old Bilyk is, of course, no longer the same young Roma, less than twenty-three years old, who came to conquer the capital with burning eyes.

Romance has decreased, wisdom has increased. This, no doubt, is reflected in the band's songs: more precisely, in their texts, because Roma is the author of most of his tracks himself (sometimes he collaborates with other poets, for example, with his old St. Petersburg friend Viktor Bondarev). However, despite all the changes, the work of the "Beasts" has always been and remains consistently high-quality and sincere, taking the soul, and the team itself is still loved by the audience.

Besides the first disc, which was already mentioned above, the "Beasts" released several more records. To date, in addition to the first, there are six full-length albums, as well as three mini-albums ("Friends in the Ward", "Wine and Space", "Animals in the Zoo"). The last of this list will be discussed in more detail later.

The mini-album "Animals in the Zoo", released just a couple of months ago, is a collection of soundtracks for Kirill Serebrennikov's film "Summer" - its premiere took place in June this year.

However, Roman has a much deeper relationship to this tape: the thing is that Roma the Beast played in this film, dedicated, by the way, to Viktor Tsoi, one of the main roles - MikeNaumenko, comrade and colleague of Tsoi. The director himself persuaded the musician to become an actor, and, judging by the reviews, Roman did his job well.

Personal life of Roma the Beast

Unlike many representatives of show business, Roman is an exemplary family man. He has been happily married to a former St. Petersburg model named Marina (now she takes care of children and home), they have two daughters - ten-year-old Olya and three-year-old Zoenka. With the eldest daughter, Roman Bilyk, they do not spill water - they do their homework together and ride the surf (like her father, Olya is an avid surfer). The youngest daughter is still eyeing this sport.

The Beast generally likes to spend time with his family - they often fly together to relax, Roman takes his girls with him to some performances. Roman Bilyk and his wife spend a lot of time together - they go to museums, visit exhibitions, theaters - in general, they lead the usual life of an ordinary happy family.

1. Roman and Alexander Voitinsky recruited the first cast of "Beasts" via the Internet.
2. Roman published two books of his autobiography. The first book (“Rain Pistols”) appeared in 2007, the second (“The Sun is for us”) ten years later.
3. Recently, Roma Zver has become interested in photography. He shoots a lot and even held several of his photography exhibitions.
4. Zveri played their first major concert at Luzhniki in Moscow in 2004.
5. Roman's height is one hundred and seventy-two centimeters, the sign of the Zodiac is Sagittarius.
6. One ofRoman's first work in Moscow was at the Zurab Tsereteli Museum.
7. At birth, Roman weighed more than four and a half kilograms, his parents were expecting twins.
