The Novokuznetsk Drama Theater has existed for more than eighty years. Today, his repertoire includes classics in their original form and in new readings, plays by contemporary playwrights and fairy tales for children.
History of the theater
The Novokuznetsk Drama Theater was opened in 1933. Its first leader and director was Lina Samborskaya. Initially, the repertoire included only the classics. The first performance was the play "Intervention" by Lev Slavin. In 1963, the theater received a new building built for it according to a special project, in which he still lives today. Its auditorium can accommodate more than 600 art lovers. The building was built in neoclassical style. Hugo is decorated with panels, bas-reliefs, murals and a colonnade.
At the beginning of the 21st century, the Novokuznetsk Drama Theater began searching for new forms and experimenting. The audience saw the classic plays in a new reading. Among them is the play "Hamlet", which became scandalous.
In 2010, the theater building underwent a large-scale reconstruction. Now there is the most modern technicalequipment, the second stage, which showcases experimental productions and a theater museum.
The troupe has reached a higher level. Increasingly, interesting original productions are born. The theater often goes on tour and participates in festivals. Implements various projects.
In 2013, the theater celebrated its 80th anniversary. It lasted for a whole week. As part of the celebration, many events were held, including several premieres. The audience was shown a bright mapping show telling the story of the Novokuznetsk Theatre. The theater very often holds works dedicated to experiments and new readings of immortal classics.
Today the chief director of the theater is young and bright Andrey Cherpin. He has a lot of ideas and plans.

Season Premiere

Staging several stories of different people. The plot tells about a rich lady who has an affair with a young schoolboy. About a poor dowry girl who dreams of a successful marriage. About a landowner who wants to buy forests at a cheap price. And also about two provincial actors, one of whom is a comedian,and the second is tragic. Each character has their own dream, which has a flip side.
