Pirate stories have always attracted the public like stories about noble robbers from the forests of Sherwood. With the proper implementation of the idea, the Disney film should have been a hit - and it was!

How could it be otherwise, if Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom got the main roles in the project? Such a peculiar character as Jack Sparrow, the world of cinema, perhaps, has not yet seen.

The Biggest Budget Movies Ever: Superman Returns (2006)

Warner Brothers launched the Superman franchise back in 1978 with the support of DC Comics. The first film starring Christopher Reeve was only $55 million. The budget of the second part was even lower. But on the shooting of the picture "Superman Returns" the team led by Bryan Singer spent 270 million. That is why the superhero film is ranked second in the "Big Budget Movies" ranking.

The main role in the third part of the superhero franchise was Brandon Routh. His hero was in a delicate position. Clark Kent, aka Superman, after a long absence returned to planet Earth and found that his old enemy continues to run the city and commit crimes, and his lover has married another man. But that's why he is a superhero to unravel complexsituations! Clark Kent defeats the insidious Lex Luthor and disappears from the horizon again to return to Earth when it is in danger.

Rapunzel: Tangled (2010)

In the XXI century. Film companies spend just as much money on animated films as they do on full-length films. Take the Shrek franchise, which enriched DreamWorks Animation by billions of dollars. However, the third position in the ranking of "The most high-budget films" is not "Shrek", but the cartoon "Rapunzel" from the W alt Disney studio. It took $260 million to create a story about a girl with incredibly long hair.

The efforts of the animators were crowned with success. Rapunzel grossed almost $600 million at the box office. The cartoon was also nominated for Oscar, Golden Globe, Georges and Saturn. By the way, 90% of the world's reviews of the animated picture were written in a positive way.

Spider-Man 3: Reflected Enemy (2007)

Spider-Man became a sensation in the 2000s. The story of a young guy who, after being bitten by a spider, turned into a superhero impressed both with special effects and a touching plot.

In the first part of the franchise, everything was done with high quality: visual effects, staging, musical accompaniment. The creators of the project decided not to stop there and with each new part they increased the budget of the film, until in 2007 it reached $258 million.

In the action movie "Spider-Man - 3" the main character Peter (performs thisthe role of Tobey Maguire) has to fight simultaneously with two opponents: with his own friend, who turned into a Goblin, and a new supervillain - Sandman. Critics have not so enthusiastically greeted the creation of the film company Columbia Pictures. However, it managed to collect $890 million at the box office.

John Carter (2012)

The fifth highest-budget film in the world is the little-known action movie John Carter. Disney's sci-fi action movie follows a US Civil War veteran who somehow ends up on the planet Mars. Unable to go back, Carter is forced to rebuild his life. He tries to merge into an alien environment, takes part in local conquest wars and defends the honor of the Martian princess Dejah Thoris.

The script of the film is ridiculous, and the film itself was smashed to smithereens by film critics. And yet, the fact remains that the Disney film company threw $ 250 million into the production of the picture. For comparison, about the same amount was spent on the sixth part of the fairy tale "Harry Potter", with a difference of a couple of thousand dollars.
