"Old House" is a theater that began its career as a branch, and then grew into an independent team. Classics and modernity coexist peacefully in his repertoire.

History of the theater

"Old House" - a theater that was created in the 30s of the 20th century. At the initial stage of its existence, it was mobile. The team began its creative life as a branch of the theater with the name "Red Torch". The actors toured throughout the Novosibirsk region. The repertoire included plays by A. Ostrovsky, M. Gorky, A. Korneichuk.

In 1943 the theater received the status of the Regional. During the war years, the troupe performed at the fronts. In 1967, the theater "Old House" received its own building. Its address is Novosibirsk, Bolshevik street, house number 45. The theater "lives" here today. In 1975, a talented director Vladimir Chernyadev came to his stage. He was a student of G. Tovstonogov himself. Thanks to him, works by contemporary authors appeared in the repertoire. The theater received its current name in 1991. This was facilitated by the new director and artistic director in one person SemyonVerkhgradsky.

In 2008, the "Old House" celebrated its 75th anniversary. This event was timed to coincide with the publication of a book by Elena Klimova called "Remarks on the margins of history." It tells about how the theater began its creative path and what it has become today. Today the troupe constantly takes part in festivals. Touring gerography has already gone beyond the region. "Old House" takes its performances to different cities of Russia. And also the actors have already been on tour in other countries.

In 2011, the project "Days of Italian Theater" was organized on the stage of the "Old House". Its program included showing several performances by director Antonio Latell based on the tragedies of Euripides. Now the theater plans to carry out a large-scale reconstruction of the entire building, restore its facade, open a second stage, and install modern equipment.
