Kamburova Elena Antonovna is a talented Soviet and Russian singer, laureate of state awards, holder of the title of People's Artist of Russia, founder and artistic director of the Theater of Music and Poetry in Moscow. Her voice is known to Russians from movies and cartoons that the singer happened to voice. To date, there are about fifty records and more than twenty CDs on which the best songs of Elena Kamburova are recorded.

Origin

The pedigree of the singer comes from the Greeks of the Azov region, who lived in the Crimea from the middle of the eighteenth century. Her ancestors were teachers, clerks, doctors, spiritual servants. Some of them were subjected to repression and persecution. Elena Kamburova's parents met in Novokuznetsk (then Stalinsk). In July 1940, their daughter was born. The singer's father was an engineer, her mother was a doctor. The Kamburova family was very friendly and musical. In the evenings, little Elena listened to songs performed by her mother andgrandmothers to the accompaniment of his father, who played the guitar well.

Choosing the path

In her childhood, the singer did not even think about a musical career. The girl was more interested in dramatic art and poetry. Being unsure of her talent, after graduating from school, the girl became a student at the Institute of Light Industry in Kyiv. Two years later, the future singer tried to enter the Shchukin Theater School. Having failed the third round, Elena decided to stay in Moscow. After working for a year at a construction site, the singer entered the stage department of the State Circus School. From that moment on, the biography of Elena Kamburova took an unexpected turn. Sergei Kashtelyan, who taught at the school, saw musical talent in the student. He invited Elena to perform Novella Matveeva's song "What a Big Wind". This was the first performance of the singer, which did not leave the audience indifferent.

In the early nineties, Kamburova decided to create her own theater, in which she could act as an artistic director and performer of roles. She succeeded, and in 1992 the first premiere of the Theater of Music and Poetry took place: the play "Game of Dreams". The theater is still popular today. It staged performances based on the works of world classics: Tchaikovsky, Bach, Schubert, Vivaldi, Schumann, Haydn. Folklore and modern music are not left without attention. Elena Antonovna believes that the song is Art with a capital letter. She tries to convey this idea to the viewer from the stagehis theatre. Talented musicians are involved on the stage of the theater and performances such as:

Despite her creative openness, Elena Antonovna is not ready to share her innermost. She prefers not to comment on her personal life. It is known that the singer met her first husband while studying at a circus school. It was the pianist and composer Kirill Akimov. It was he who introduced Elena to Bulat Okudzhava. For this acquaintance, the singer is grateful to her first husband to this day. The marriage lasted six years and ended in divorce. The couple chose not to talk about the reasons.

The second time the singer married her colleague Alexei Voznesensky. He participated in the songwriting of Kamburova, was her accompanist. The singer admits that she felt the support of Alexei until the last days of his life. There were no children in both marriages.
