Creation process

The series "Forbidden Love" was based on the novel of the same name by a famous Turkish writer named Khalid Ziya Isakligil. Screenwriters Melek Gençoglu and Eice Yorenç adapted the plot of the book into a TV series, while directors Messude Erarslan and Hilal Saral undertook its implementation.

The careful selection of actors, which began at the stage of creating the script, lasted 2 months. As a result, all the selected actors, both beginners and professionals, fully met the expectations placed on them.

The shooting took place in Istanbul, in a mansion owned by Sheikh Osman Bey. The owner of the mansion lives in Saudi Arabia. After the filming of the series was completed, the mansion became a place of constant pilgrimage for tourists, and prices on the adjacent street increased significantly.

Fans of the series hope to continue filming, especially since the plot79 episodes over two seasons have not come to their logical conclusion and leave room for the imagination. However, Turkish producers are in no hurry to shoot the continuation of the series.

The series itself, despite its popularity, did not collect any special awards. But the actors who performed the main and secondary roles showed their talent by 100%. Many of them, including the young Beren Saat, received the most prestigious award in Turkish film production, Golden Butterfly, as the best actor (best actress).

In both books, we are talking about a young girl bound by strong bonds of marriage, but caught in the power of a vicious connection. Turkish writer Khalid Ziya Isakligil successfully adapted this story to Turkish society and reality.

Already after the release and success of the series, in 2015, the Russian series "Forbidden Love" was released in Russia. However, despite some similarity of storylines, the Russian series is very different from the Turkish one, including the plot. Well, what is more interesting, to judge the audience.
