In addition to the famous son Michael, Joseph Jackson had eight more children in his marriage to Katherine Skruse. And they all became more or less famous musicians. In fact, ten offspring were born. But one of the Brandon twins died at birth. This tragedy, however, did not derail the rest of the Jacksons from stardom.

Joseph Jackson: the beginning of the road to the stars

July 26, 1929 in the American town of Arkansas was born a boy who was destined to become the father of a large family of famous musicians. The baby was named Joseph W alter Jackson. As soon as the guy turned 12 years old, he had a chance to experience the first drama in his life. After many years of marriage, the parents decided to end their relationship. The teenager, along with his father Samuel Jackson, was forced to move to Oakland.

After leaving school, Joe moves to California, where he realizes his boxing skills. However, the sudden illness of his mother forces the guy to interrupt his career. From now on, West Chicago awaits him, where he takes care of a suffering parent for a while.

This continued until 1949. On November 5, Joseph Jackson, along with his young wife Katherine Skruse, settled in the city of Gary (Indiana). The $800 two-room house was the happy family's first home.

Meeting fate

Katherine Jackson (nee Skruse) was born to Prince Albert Scruse and Matty Upshaw on May 4, 1930. At a tender age, the girl contracted polio. The illness left its unpleasant mark: all her life, Kate limped slightly. But that didn't stop her from meeting her destiny in her only love, Joe Jackson.

They met at a young age. Joe had just moved to the home of his future wife in Indiana. Extremely active and musical, the guy quickly became a local star thanks to his original antics. It is no wonder that little Katie immediately fell in love with the public's favorite and began to build eyes on him in every possible way. This, however, did not save her from a little trouble: her object of adoration suddenly married a local beauty. Fortunately, the dissolution of a childless marriage was also not long in coming.

A year later, Joe was free again, and Katherine tripled her efforts to win his heart. Now not a day passed that the girl did not catch the eye of her beloved and tried her best to charm him. It wasn't long before Joseph was smitten. The result of all the efforts of Miss Skruse was a wedding in the town of Crown Point (Indiana). Throughout their life together, Kate remained a faithful companion in the life of her adored husband, despite his love of flirting with strangers. Mrs. Jackson gave birthhusband of ten lovely children, nine of whom were lucky enough to survive in this difficult world.

Father of many children

Having married in 1949, the Jackson family did not have time to enjoy each other's company. Already in 1950, on May 29, their first princess was born - daughter Rebbie, who was named Maureen Reilit at baptism. The girl was not to be an only child for long.

One by one, literally every year, her numerous brothers began to appear:

  • Sigmund Esco (home nickname Jackie) was born on May 4, 1951.
  • Toriano Edarill (Tito) - 1953-15-10
  • Germaine La John - 1954-11-12
  • La Toya's sister Yvona was born on May 29, 1956.
  • Marlon twins David and Brandon were born on March 12, 1957, unfortunately the youngest of the twins, Brandon, lived only a few days.
  • Michael Joseph - August 29, 1958
  • Steven Randall (Randy) - 1961-31-10
  • Damitha's youngest sister Janet Jackson appeared on May 16, 1966.

All the legitimate heirs of Joseph were to make a huge contribution to the musical art of the world.

The huge family of Joseph Jackson required considerable material investments. The head of the family had to support numerous relatives. Katherine managed the household with a skillful hand, zealously saving every penny.

Despite Joe's hard work at the local steel mill, there was often not enough money for even the bare necessities. In addition to constant need, Jackson Sr. was oppressed by a viscous routine. The musical soul of the young father wanted space. It was the desire to make himself known to the world that prompted Joe to create The Falcons, which performed music in the style of rhythm and blues. The team, however, did not last long.

During the creative torment of the father, the sons grew up. One day, Joseph drew attention to the singing of his boys, who were fooling around in their nursery. Possessing remarkable organizational skills, Big Daddy decides to found a new musical ensemble, consisting exclusively of the Jackson boys. So the group The Jacksons was born, which was later renamed The Jacksons 5. The youngest, but nevertheless the most plastic and vociferous in the team, was the seventh child of the spouses Michael. It was he who came up with many dance steps, which the brothers obediently performed to the beat of singing.

The Jacksons 5 performed successfully between 1964 and 1989. Having traveled almost all of America, winning all kinds of music competitions, the guys have long been idols of different generations and races. The older listeners were moved, looking at the virtuosic efforts of the charming boys. The younger generation looked up to their bouncy and vociferous peers, dreaming one day to conquer the stage just like The Jacksons 5. Needless to say, the band was the first black musical group? Truly, the ensemble is a real breakthrough in the world of music in many ways.

Father of the King of Pop

Although all the children of the couple hadextraordinary musical abilities, nevertheless most of all glorified the name of his father Michael Jackson. Having drummed in the family team for 14 long years, the seventh son of Joe and Kate took up a solo career. The first result was the 1978 musical film Wiz. When creating the musical, the future star met the popular producer Quincy Jones, who soon became the entrepreneur of many of Michael's albums.

November 1982 was marked by the release of the sixth vinyl, which became the best-selling in the history of the music market. Joe Jackson took an active part in all the successes of his son, who closely followed all the successes of the star child.

Besides music, Michael, brought up in the best traditions of the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses, was zealously involved in charity work and helping those in need. Twice, with the blessing of the same parents, the pop idol got married. The first wedding took place with the daughter of the king of rock and roll Elvis Presley Lisa Marie, the second - with the nurse Debbie Rowe, who later became the mother of two of three children.

Famous daughters

In addition to the star son, Joe Jackson was also glorified by the famous princesses - La Toya and Janet. The eldest of the two sisters dreamed of becoming a professional lawyer since childhood. However, her father's demands were adamant not to change the family business - music, and the girl was forced to join the brothers. Subsequently, La Toya's artistic talent was fully revealed. In 1980, the singer released her first solo album, which, thanks to her famous surname, had a goodsuccess.

In addition to talent, the fifth child of the Jackson family also has a love for scandals. Over time, the image of a chaste Christian woman began to change before our eyes. Now the woman tried in every possible way to demonstrate her attractiveness and sexuality. The desire to shock the public and relatives prompted La Toya in 1989 to pose naked for Playboy magazine. This was the reason for the long-term conflict between the singer and her family, which, fortunately, ended in 2007.

The last offspring of the couple was Janet Jackson, who also devoted herself to music. The excessive despotism of her father forced the girl to run away from home and independently pursue her creative career. Janet considers her first victory to be the release of the Rhythm Nation album in 1984. It was from that moment that the singer's popularity began to increase, and interest in her has not faded to this day.

Joseph Jackson's other private life

The biography of the father of famous offspring is not limited to one family. In fact, Joseph also has an illegitimate daughter. It was the connection with Sherrell Terrell and the birth of the girl Joe Voni that caused Katherine to reconsider her relationship with her husband. And although the marriage was not officially dissolved, the former spouses began to live separately.

Life after Michael's death

Today, after almost 10 years since the death of the pop idol, Joe Jackson, along with his wife Katherine, are raising three children of a star son. And although Kate's grandmother was appointed the official guardian of the heirs, the grandfather also takes an active part in the fate of her grandchildren. Paparazzi more than oncecaptured the exit of the three offspring of Michael with Katie and Joe into the world.
