Barabanova Maria Pavlovna - Soviet actress and director, born back in 1911. Nobody remained indifferent to her. She was either loved or hated for her difficult character and the fanaticism with which she gave herself to her two main passions - cinema and the party. Only a few daredevils dared to fight her - it was simply unreasonable. She knew how to manipulate people with dexterity, adjusting the situation for herself. But she was also a charming little woman with always smiling eyes.
Maria Barabanova: biography - childhood and youth
From the earliest years, Maria was known as a terrible fidget. Very often she was expelled from school for inappropriate behavior. And one day it brought her to tears. To which her infinitely loving father said: "Just think, they kicked me out! There are many schools, but you are the only one!" Most likely, it was paternal adoration that served to establish her obstinate character. After all, for the rest of her life, she did only that,what she wanted. Having arranged a scandal, it is easy to change the theater, achieve the desired roles, arrange someone else's personal life according to your own understanding. She loved and hated, fought and achieved - all this she did with a sincere belief in her rightness. And she considered her enemies mediocre fools.
Even at the age of 5, Maria Barabanova decided that she wanted to be an artist, and there was no doubt that she would achieve this.
For a long time she was engaged in amateur performances, but at the age of 16 she firmly decided that enough was enough for her, it's time to perform on a real theater stage. And even despite the lack of special education, she was accepted first to the Leningrad Proletkult Theater, and then to the Leningrad Youth Theater, which she left to get an education at a theater college.
Of course, a scandal could not be avoided there either. Maria studied on the course of the teacher Sushkevich and was even his favorite student. By the end of the course, the students of the course decided to organize the theater of Sushkevich. But Maria was against this idea, arguing that the idea was uninteresting and boring, and if you organize a theater, then the name of Meyerhold. At that moment, Sushkevich himself entered the office. And one of the students challenged her, asking her to repeat her words, which she did.
After graduating from distribution, Maria got into the Comedy Theater.
Beginning of film career
Simultaneously with the end of the theater college in 1937, her film career began. Her first role was a postman girl in the film by M. Werner and S. Sidelev"The girl is in a hurry for a date."
Just two years later, the real fame of the Soviet actress came to her. She got the role of orderly Timofeich in the film by Erast Garin "Doctor Kalyuzhny". Moreover, this film became a landmark not only for Barabanova, but also for Arkady Raikin, Yanina Zheymo and Yuri Tolubeev.
It's funny that almost the entire crew thought that this role was played by a young boy, and not a real actress. Something similar happened many years later, Maria so naturally and organically fit into the role that on the set of the film "The Secret of the Blackbirds", which was filmed in a psychiatric hospital, a passing doctor mistook her for a real madwoman.
In 1941, the actress was called to play two main roles at once in the film "The Prince and the Pauper" - Prince Edward and Tom Canty. Filming took place in Moscow. Because of this, Barabanova was simply torn between two cities - Moscow and Leningrad, cinema and theater. When it became especially difficult, she made a choice, and this is a movie. The head of the theater, Akimov, considered this an unforgivable act, which caused another scandal.
At the film studio, she tried to take part in all matters, even those that did not concern her. Once she found out that one of the artists had been cheated on by her husband. Barabanova immediately rushed to collect dirt on him. And having received enough information, I decided to come up with a punishment for him. But during this struggle, friendship struck up between them, and she herself helped him settle in the new life of a bachelor. But a few years later, a quarrel broke out between them.
Allshe did this without pursuing any selfish goals, Mary firmly believed that her calling was to do good.
War years
Due to her truly strong character, Maria Balobanova sometimes managed to do very important things. During the war years, she managed to achieve the transfer of an entire theater from one city to another. At the time, she was in what is now Dushanbe (formerly known as Stalinabad) with Gorky's studio evacuated from Moscow, and one day, after receiving a letter from the Comedy Theater, where the troupe complained about the terrible living conditions in which they found themselves, she went to the secretary of the Central Committee of Tajikistan and literally achieved the transfer of the theater from Leningrad to Dushanbe.
By 1944, Maria returned to Moscow and stayed there forever. She took part in two films - "Fashions of Paris" and "The Russian Question". After that, she disappeared from the screens for several years. She took up party activities.
Party activities
After leaving the cinema, Maria Pavlovna graduated from the Higher Party School and was appointed secretary of the party organization of the film studio. It was one of the difficult periods in the life of her colleagues. She was so active that many people hated her for it. But there were also those who benefited from the girl's new position.
She was truly devoted to the Party. In the case when it seemed to her that a person had no talent or he had any anti-party views, she made his existence at the studio unbearable.
While working in the party, Barabanova actively fought for VasilyShukshin. And only thanks to her assistance he was able to remain in the staff of the film studio. She also fought desperately for the rights of veterans. She beat out financial assistance for them, housekeepers and vouchers - she kept all this under her own control. For which the veterans were eternally grateful.
Private life
At the same time, Barabanova decided it was time to take care of the device and her own personal life. She stubbornly tried to find a man with whom it would be possible to find family happiness. The representatives of the stronger sex were crazy about her and sincerely loved her. Maria was married several times and had a daughter. All this took about 10 years - so much she did not act in films.
Not everything went smoothly in the personal life of Maria Barabanova. She was very loving. She was married 7 times. And she tried to make her men successful. Many of them achieved unprecedented career heights while they were with her. And actors, and journalists, and officials.
Despite her love of love and unconditional influence on men, Maria Pavlovna was an exemplary wife. Each of her husbands literally carried her in their arms. She responded by making them into individuals. She could fashion a deputy minister out of a modest scientific worker. This is how it usually happened.
She was able to turn the heads of many, for example, Erast Garin and the head of the Republic of Tajikistan. Her bright temperament and always smiling eyes were like a magnet for men.
Return to movies
In 1957Maria learned about the auditions for the movie "Puss in Boots" by Alexander Rowe for the role of a cat. She immediately rushed to the office of one of the authorities and, banging her fist on the table, exclaimed that it was she who should play this role. That's how it all happened. Critics praised the actress, but after that Maria Barabanova temporarily did not act in films.
Everything for you
During the lull, she did something desperate - together with film director Vladimir Sukhobokov, she made the film "All for You". The roles in the film were performed by wonderful artists - Tatyana Peltzer, Rina Zelenaya, Leonid Kuravlev, Olga Aroseva and others.
The plot was based on the story of the heroine Barabanova - Masha Barashkina, who was an instructor of the city executive committee. She devoted herself completely to work for the well-being of her native city, but she did not find understanding anywhere: neither among her colleagues, nor among her superiors, and even her lover could not accept this.
By and large, this is an autobiographical film for Maria, because in it she spoke about herself and her life. Unfortunately, the film failed. But the goal was achieved - Barabanova returned to the screens.
Age roles
After the release of the picture "All for You", Barabanova was again invited to shoot. Basically, these were the roles of mothers, grandmothers, aunts and cheerful old women. Among them were paintings such as:
- "Finist is a clear falcon";
- "While the clock strikes";
- "Woman inwhite";
- "Katya" and others.
She was especially good at the role of Baba Yaga in the fairy tale "How Ivan the Fool went for a miracle."
The last role was a Jewish bander in the film "We are going to America" by Yefim Gribov in 1992. In 1993, she Maria Barabanova passed away after a serious illness, leaving behind a few, but bright roles and legends about her obstinate and difficult character.
