John Corbett, an American film actor with a versatile role, was born on May 9, 1961 in Wheeling, Virginia. He is distinguished by his tall (196 cm) height and huge energy potential, which helps him both in creative activities and in baseball. John Corbett composes songs in the country style, performs them with a guitar or a banjo. In addition, the actor writes poetry.
Steelmaker's work
After graduating from high school, John Corbett moved to California and got a job at a steel plant. The work was hard, with the tasks of a steelmaker and adults coped with difficulty, and Corbett, thanks to his good physical condition, effortlessly rolled carts with molds from one end of the workshop to the other.
Worked at John's factory for six years, but then had to leave due to a back injury. Corbett then decided to pursue drama and enrolled in the class of theater actors at the California College of Cerritos. While still a student, he took part in several productions, while showing good acting skills.
After listening to positive feedback, John Corbett decided to go to Hollywood and start therefilm actor career. However, the Dream Factory in Los Angeles met him unfriendly, and the future star had to start with commercials.
Career start
Only in 1988, John was noticed and invited to the film industry, where he played in the teen series "The Wonder Years". The role was episodic, but the debut took place. Gradually, John Corbett began to play more significant characters. The two-meter height of the actor, on the one hand, allowed him to play exclusive roles of tall heroes, and on the other hand, such types are not so common in film projects. However, John Corbett was not idle.
In 1990, the actor got his first star role (Chris Stevens from the TV series "North Side"), which made him incredibly popular among the audience.
In 1991, Corbett made his feature film debut with a small role in John Millius' action movie Flight of the Intruder.
Creative activity
The year 1993 brought the actor a role in the western "Tombstone: Legend of the Wild West", directed by George Cosmatos. Then, with a break of several years, two roles followed: in the film "Volcano" directed by Mick Jackson and "The Chronicle of Osiris" directed by Joe Dante.
In the nineties, John Corbett did a lot of work on images in television projects and at the same time starred in movies for the big screen. Another stellar role of the actor was the character of Aidan Shaw inpopular series Sex and the City. John Corbett, whose films have already become expected by the general public, continued to actively act in new film projects.
Corbett's latest works include such films as "Dreamland" directed by Jason Matzner, "Street Kings" by David Ayer, "Messengers" directed by Oxide and Danny Pan, "The Burning Plain" by Arriaga Guillermo and others. Private life
John Corbett has only been married once. His wife is fashion model and actress Bo Derek (nee Mary Kathleen Collins), widow of runway and studio photographer, Playboy staff reporter Joe Derek.
Currently, John Corbett and Bo Derek live in Santa Barbara, a city well-known for several action-packed series. The spouses have no children. John Corbett, whose wife supports him in everything, leads a varied life full of all sorts of hobbies, both sports and intellectual.
Often, he and his wife break away, and they leave for another long trip around America. After leaving California, the couple crosses many states. Usually the voyage ends in Florida, and sometimes in New York. It all depends on how many free days John has between shoots. With the regulationsbe considered, since the pen alties for disrupting the filming process are expressed in six-figure figures and amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars. So it's better to get back to LA on time.
The actor enjoys participating in baseball competitions, his high growth gives him a significant advantage over other players. Not a single "Fast Eater" contest is complete without it. It has no equal in towing heavy-duty trailer vehicles when it is necessary to stretch a multi-ton colossus for a given distance. Competitions are held in good weather on a specially equipped site. A heavy tractor with a trailer clings to a cable that is attached to the athlete's shoulders. In some cases, strongmen pull the car with their teeth. This is considered the most difficult stage in the competition. Winners receive large sums of money and certificates.
